CanoodlerMar 11, 2011It's got shock and titillation value as well as being socially acceptable and inevitable. Everything that makes a product noticeable. I've noticed as well and I think it's great. Sometimes they take the mickey out of nudists but I for one, know that ALL nudists have a great sense of humour and can laugh at ourselves.

M_JimmieM_MOriginal PosterMar 12, 2011Some of the ads I have noticed lately it is mentioned so quickly you will miss it if you do not watch closely. one even speels (Flashes) the words out and I think even though they said "nude" they spelled it "nood". another ad lately is about hamburgers, i do not remember the deails but think they were talking about eating it in the nude.

During that one ad for Arby's eating good food, the nude comment went by so fast I had to think "wait, did they just say wat i think they said?" lol. Thought I was just hearing things til heard it the second time, third, and now confirmed here. YES! I am not losing my mind!! whoo!!! ^.^ReactReply - HU
HUDSONHORNETMar 12, 2011VW had an advertisement in Europe that used nudists. Can't remember the exact details, but they were driving past a nude beach, they stopped and went for a swim. I think.

ChuckMar 12, 2011I've noticed over the years that there are less clothes being worn some of the lotion, body wash and perfume ads. Do you think America will ever fully open up to nudity as over seas?

We've noticed it as well. Great to see. Has become kind of a game with us to be the first to spot the nude reference.

DesertRatMar 12, 2011
Has anyone noticed that here in the USA some commercials are starting to make more and more commits about being nude?
Yes I have! It adds a little bit of shock and tittlization and the viewers ears perk up. That's what the advertizers are looking for.ReactReply - THTheFreeSpiritMar 13, 2011This is really interesting Jimmie - I am deeply interested in discourses like this slowly unfoldoing. Could you elaborate a little by telling me how long this has been happening, and maybe describe some of the ads [or if they're on youtube - post links?].ReactReply

kramtrohsMar 13, 2011Well, it's ki d of good that it's slowly getting out there - subtle images like that can help to change peoples perceptions over time.

orbarebearMar 14, 2011I just watched an interesting segment of National Geographic's Taboo series, which had a segment on the Lake Como Nudist Resort in Florida; it was pretty well done and I have to suspect some of the people that were there are here as well...

ManOfWicklowJun 26, 2012The ad here in the UK for, Richmond Ham, is nudes all the way through. I have tried to paste it here, but for some reason, am not able to get it right. I don't know if it's me or my pc.ReactReply - MEMemberJun 26, 2012Here in the U.S., in the last week, I have seen a new ad on TV for the auto insurance company Geico which takes place on a beach and then shows a sign marking the beach as Clothing Optional. Then the gecko looks at himself and say at least he will fit in and walks on past the sign.ReactReply

M_JimmieM_MOriginal PosterSep 2, 2015I see more programs and advertisements on tv leading to a nude or naturist life style are coming up more and more. I believe this is helping us to reach acceptance with more of the public here in the USA. If there are people in marketing in the media reading this, Please keep up the good work. Not only does it catch peoples attention it helps our acceptance.ReactReply
