I think I`ve decided to do this. — General Discussion on True Nudists

I've come to realize that I would like to live somewhere where nudity is allowed. My current living situation is less than ideal for being a nudist, so I really need a change.
Does anyone have any experience with renting/leasing or purchasing a home at a nudist resort or club, and how would I be able to go forward with doing that for myself?

According to your profile, you still haven't visited a club or beach so I'd start with that. All clubs are a little bit different and have their own characteristics so before committing to living at a club, I'd want to spend a good length of time investigating clubs. If, or when, you do decide to live at a club, why not just start with a camper? That's a pretty minimal investment and gives you flexibility. I assume you still need to work so that will also limit the clubs you can consider living at. Can you find work in the area? How long will the commute be?
I love to visit clubs but I don't have any desire to live at one full-time. It's essentially a gated community and you need permission to make changes to your site, you need permission for guests to visit and often they have to pay to visit, and there's a general lack of privacy that I've gotten used to in my own home on a large lot. I would be quite happy having a trailer at a club but I have a hard time seeing me making it my permanent home.

You might work on your situation incrementally. If you are constrained to a roommate situation, make household nudity part of the deal in your next place. In choosing an apartment to rent, I found one where there was access to the roof, where (of course) nude sunbathing was OK. In buying land for a house, I made sure to get a place with real privacy. If you, and your guests, can be naked inside and someplace outside in the sun, would that be good enough for now?

A formally nudist community is going to be waaay too removed from real life for someone your age. You'd go stir-crazy.

You can expect to pay at least twice the amount for a residence in some resorts. I have seen single wide trailersrs built in the 60s go for 70 and 80 thousand. Its nearly impossible to get one financed. Add that to the lot rent or purchase plus your daily utilities. You may be also be amongst people twice your age. Its a shame more of your generation arent getting involved. I think cost is one reason is why. Maybe a nice modest home with some property around you would be wiser. Plus.... Working around your property in the nude makes for a great day.

Exactly what we did. We bought our winter home next to a nude resort. Bought the membership and a golf cart and ride over when we want. A lot cheaper. And many of our neighbors too are members so there is nobody talking about the nudists.

Begin with a visit to a resort or beach of your choosing, maybe connect with a local non-landed group. See if it is right for you.
Keep in mind that your life is going to change over time. If you are currently uncommitted, you may find a girl who is not particularly crazy about nudity, and her benefits may outweigh your enjoyment of nudism on a 24/7/365 basis. You may even repel someone because they don't understand what 'true nudism' is; which is simply the achievement of an unconventional level of comfort compared to the 'textiles'. It has nothing to do with appearance or sex or social status. There are a lot of people who may not be able to get past the regular interaction with one of the local sources of humor-someone or a couple of someones who are so full of themselves that they tend to regularly check the condition of their muscle, or fluff their organ, or like to remove the strings from their waist and bend un-naturally to expose the beauty of their cornhole so that the rest of us can marvel at their not-so-tight, tanned, silicone impregnated and aging body.
There are a lot of people who may not be comfortable standing threadless talking to an equally naked septuagenarian widow who understands that beauty is in the soul of someone. You may not get that the guy you are floating naked in the pool with, having a pleasant and engaging conversation with, is what some bigots (including those who ride bike) think is a 'flaming (homosexual)'; and you suddenly feel a sense of not knowing what to think when you realize the guy is gay. The truth is that the last two examples may very well be rewarding for those who are comfortable in nudism, but those that aren't would feel creeped out in their vanity or insecurity. You don't know until you experience it.
Nudism is not what the public perception of it is.
Don't put serious money into it until you know what you are doing. And, be smart when you invest in a home. If you want to live nude when you're at home, you can always buy a place in the woods. There, you can provide a comfortable place for the girl of your dreams, and give her a secure place to step into nudism at her own pace instead of being thrust into it. While at the same time, having the best chance of property value appreciation that conventional, non-nudist real estate ownership provides.
That said, there are nudist resorts with full time residency throughout the USA. Though, you will find most of that to be sub-average housing compared to the modern day McMansion standards of society. And most if not all of your full time neighbors will be old, grey and bald; and wrinkly. But in Pasco County, Florida, there are gated communities designed for nudist living. I'm not sure if they have or will remain so; but that was the original design.

I don't know if this is a serious inquiry or not but I will give it the benefit of doubt and answer it seriously. The first thing you must find is a year around resort, one that doesn't close in the winter. Most of these resorts have rental units that can be rented by the day, week or month. Pick one resort and try it for a week. Learn everything about the resort and also the surrounding community. If you reside at a resort full time you will also be a member of the surrounding community. Do this with several resorts. Ask various members what resorts they particularly like and give them a try. When you find a resort that you like and you can afford to live there, check out the work situation and the commute times. I say it's no use living in a great place if you have to spend 4 or more hours on the road every day. You'll be too tired to enjoy your living arrangements. Take your time and check out both coasts and the states in between. Also check out Hawaii. It's a great place to be nude. Good luck.
