if your a naturist why do you shave or cut hair — General Discussion on True Nudists

Hi Im new here; i believe in being el natural that is i believe in being natural in appearance; as a result i have a huge red beard. Nudity to me is part of being natural just like not shaving or cutting hair is. im more of anaturist than a nudist. But i am a fan of nudity as it is part of being natural or like nature

I think if your motivation to be nude is to be natural and take me as i am attitude; then i think one should not shave or cut hair on face head or body to be consistant with your be natural beliefs

THE same reasoning as why wash clothes every day in order to look good for others; the same applies to hair on head face and body why spend half an hour a day cutting and shaving hair to look good for other isnt naturism about being like nature

I just like the 'neat' look of either close trimed pubes or shaved. It's all down to personal preference so vive la difference!

I personally think being a nudist means that you accept people regardless of the way their body looks. It's all about acceptance, hair or no hair.
I shave because I prefer to be clean. Pubic hair (on women) in my opinion would be akin to a smelly swamp. Pubic hair on men...well I have no issue with it other than I don't enjoy flossing during particularly intimate moments. I'm sure a lot of men don't enjoy flossing during oral either.
But if hair is your thing, by all means grow it out. There's a fair number of people who like that natural look. I find it disgusting when women don't shave their pubes (or trim them), underarms, or legs. We are women, not ogres.

human body hairs have their function if survived to natural selection and in my opinion they don't are nor a substitute for central heating nor a bed for dirty things.
what cannot be doubted is that hairs are connected with nervous terminations so they are a vehicle for sensations rangingfrom the pleasure of wind to the one of caressing.
Again my opinion smooth people lose lot of sensations just to follow what beaty industries say to be in.

Body hair IMHO and some physicians and sociologists believe it to be for protection against brambles, thorns, etc. against the genitalia.
I like the natural look and want to appear as me. It's not being in nature, it's my comfort that is why I am natural in the pubic area. I do shave my under arm and legs every couple of years. I'm fortunate in that the hair on my legs and underarms is scant.

In modern humans, hair no longer serves any useful purpose. Shaving or not is a matter of personal preference and comfort. I respect your choice, regardless of which it is. Personally, I prefer short hair and no whiskers, with other areas "maintained."

I don't shave my pubic hair, like NIMA said, don't want a bare spot in lawn. As far as a beard, I occasionally grow one but after a few months I grow tired of it.

For me it's just about appearance. I'm naturally very hairy, and I think that my body looks much better devoid of all the hair; it also feels nicer to the touch.

With a nod to Oregongirl, nobody likes hair in their mouth! Shaving hair has gone in and out of style for centuries! Look at much Renaissance art? Almost all women are smoothly shaven. It's a fashion thing, in a decade we might all be hairy again!

There may indeed be many whose choice is driven by the dictates of fashion and beauty. Such shallowness is common in the textile realms, as seen by the obsession with the latest clothing, hair styles, cosmetics, etc. That does not translate to a universal fixation with those petty matters. When I wrote earlier that IMO the smooth look is "in", it acknowledged that it is appearing more and more often in nudist venues. First, I shave/trim because my wife likes it and so do I. However, if you want to be a purist then you can't cut your hair or shave/trim your beard. It's the same difference. And finally, who cares? LOL!

Whatever event, hobby, pasttime, recreational activity you enjoy, there are a thousand others who enjoy it as well but for their own reasons which will likely bear SOME resemblance to your own. Just as in each trampolinist is different off the bouncy matte, we Naturists or Nudists are all different when we go back home or find ourselves clothed at the store. To assume we all must have more in common is simply baseless. We are here to celebrate one thing we all have in common, not that we necessarily think or do anything else in the same way.
As mentioned, Vive la difference! And enjoy the things we share!

Oh, BTW, a small rant, if you will allow me, what little pubic hair I have is not, nor is ever, smelly. The only reason it would be would be if I didn't wash or wear appropriate clothes. Please don't tell us about your lack of personal hygiene. And to a few, let's try not to say that this or that is "disgusting". Naturists should be a little less quick to judge things as gross as we all know we are judged by many to be that simply by being nude.

well. I shave my armpits for comfort and so I don t stink so bad. I cut my hair in my head coz I am too old for long hair. Otherwise I see no need to get rid of any hair

Well that's why I said "In my opinion" regarding smells.
What isn't smelly to you, might be REALLY stinky to someone else.
It makes me feel kind of queasy to think of all the sweat, dirt, lubrication, and urine that must get trapped in unchecked growth.
Unless of course you shower after every time you pee and wash down there many many more times a day than is healthy. Of course if you're constantly washing it to avoid getting smelly hair down there, the probability of suffering from multiple yeast infections and BV is high.
I prefer no hair because, in my PERSONAL opinion, it's cleaner and it smells less. The same way shaving your armpits causes you to have little or no B/O.
