This site used to be a good one but with no proper system to filter fake accounts it is going downhill! While I am a life member I am considering leaving...one could only question the intention of admin here, are they truly trying to do something...or are they gradually changing the site to a different genre to make more $?!....For those of you out there, who are genuine nudists/ Naturists, how about we join forces and create our own site on our own server? We each of us as moderators/ admin? Who is in?

I'd rather have a "real" True Nudists site than a True Nude & Lewd site, which is whatTN is becoming. If admin redirected all the TN sex seeking members/applicants to the True Swinger site, where they belong, this site could return to what it was originally - a place for true nudists/naturists to form friendships and network amongst themselves. I'm in my 70's and rarely does a day go by without me receiving friend requests from young women with not certified and empty (fake) profiles. TN is becoming just another sex seeking site. Money seems to be more important than the principles of nudism/naturism, - the very principles that convinced me this was the site to join as a true nudist.

People have high expectations of a site. Good luck with it if you decide to go ahead with it.

I would much prefer that TN *kick the frauds* to the curb but dont really see it happening unless TT1 & TT2 decide it is necessary for the continuation of the site. The sheer number of fakes, bots and assorted scumbags that appear on the Feed daily are ruining it for the purist types. As Vince mentioned, the owners / moderators dont appear to be all that interested in keeping it clean. It really is taking on the look of a sheer numbers / profile / clicks game. Those of us here for Nudist / Naturist reasons are being ignored & offered up as manna for the trash. Just a large group of potential customers / sheep. Well all press on as we can but a growing number of us folks who form the consistent backbone of membership are crying out the ship is taking on water. Will TT1 & TT2 man the bilge pumps or should we all start heading for the lifeboats?

@sunseeker....naturisthub is by invitation, yet fakes are still making their way in...it make you question how current member select those they invite...there are ways to filter fakes, and yes that s not eady and there are cost associated ...but when you take people money and offer lifetime membership there are expectation you ll keep things running properly including the reputation of the site...presently the reputation is sliding as it is seen a refuge for weirdos and sexual predators, check the reviews online...i was happy to say i was a TN life member....no longer!

One thing I have noticed about a variety of sites - OhNaturist included, despite how carefully monitored it is - is that if it doesn't *start* with a critical mass of women (as TN did) it will never get there.

Setting up a website like truenudists.com on your own server requires careful planning, especially regarding development, security, and ongoing costs. But it is not impossible. Heres a breakdown:

    1. Initial Development Costs

    a. Website Development

Custom Web Design & UI/UX: A well-designed user interface is essential, especially for member interactions, content sharing, and a visually appealing design for a naturist community. Cost: A$5,000 - A$10,000.

Back-End Development: User profiles, content management, chat features, forums, and secure payment integration. A more advanced social network with privacy and moderation features can increase complexity and cost. Cost: A$10,000 - A$25,000.

Mobile Responsiveness: Ensuring mobile compatibility for a seamless user experience on various devices. Cost: A$2,000 - A$5,000.

Database Setup: A secure database to store user data and images. Cost: A$2,000 - A$5,000.

    b. Server Infrastructure

Dedicated Server Setup: For hosting on your own server, costs depend on specifications and provider. A typical setup with adequate storage and bandwidth can range from A$1,000 to A$5,000.

Load Balancing & Scalability: Necessary if you expect a high number of users to ensure the site performs well. Cost: A$2,000 - A$7,000.

    c. Security Features

SSL Certificate: To secure user data. Cost: A$100 - A$500 annually.

Firewall & Anti-DDoS Protection: To protect against cyber threats. Cost: A$500 - A$2,000.

Encryption & Compliance Setup: For data protection, which could include GDPR compliance if you have EU users. Cost: A$1,000 - A$3,000.

    d. Development Total: A$25,000 - A$60,000

    2. Ongoing Running Costs

    a. Server Maintenance & Hosting

Dedicated Server Rental: Approx. A$200 - A$500 per month for a reliable, high-performance server.

Content Delivery Network (CDN): To improve load times, especially if you expect international visitors. Cost: A$50 - A$300 per month.

    Backups & Storage: Cost: A$50 - A$200 per month.

    b. Security Maintenance

Firewall & DDoS Protection: Ongoing protection costs can be around A$100 - A$300 per month.

Regular Security Audits: Its wise to conduct periodic security audits to ensure data protection. Cost: A$1,000 - A$2,000 annually.

Vulnerability Scanning & Penetration Testing: Optional, but recommended. Cost: A$1,000 - A$3,000 per year.

    c. Technical Support & Upgrades

Developer Retainer for Bug Fixes and Updates: Cost: A$1,000 - A$2,000 per month.

System Administrator: To monitor and maintain the server if needed. Cost: A$500 - A$1,500 per month.

    d. Marketing and Other Operational Costs

Marketing: Cost: Varies based on strategy, but expect A$500 - A$2,000 per month for digital marketing, SEO, and outreach.

Content Moderation: For user-generated content, if not handled by AI initially. Cost: A$1,000 - A$3,000 per month.

    e. Running Total: A$5,000 - A$12,000 per month

    Summary

    Initial Setup: A$25,000 - A$60,000

    Monthly Running Cost: A$5,000 - A$12,000

As I have said before there are ways to minimize this. Fakes go where it is easy to get traction they do want to waste time with jumping through too many hoops. This is based on accurate experience with this kind of thing. No website is perfect. No members are perfect (I, myself am far from it). But I cannot say I'm not getting my "Lifetime Membership's" worth.

Sharon and I have made many friends here -- some of whom have visited our home, some others we have met up with at nudist resorts -- or even a cafe for coffee. Still others we have exchanged phone #s and email addresses.

Fact is, you just don't know who's a fake until they stand you up for meeting, -- or get chummy real fast then ask for money (or sex, or personal porn pix). Wouldn't you agree?

On the other hand, I have had many communications (TN PMs) with a hundred couples (and a few single men and women) -- great chats and lengthily discussions on a broad range of topics. If they're fake, they're interesting and entertaining nevertheless.

If purging fakes is a good thing, so too would be purging members who have not accessed the TN site in the past 5 years. Maybe, not purge, but set aside as "inactive." I often search for members in a certain area, say, within a 100 mile radius of my zip code. Out of 227 members, only 43 have been on TN during the past 12 months.

I'm not sure how you guys are seeing bots, fakes, and scumbags on your feed unless you have friended them. All I see are activities from people I have friended or groups I have joined. I don't accept friend requests from just anybody who asks. I check their page first, and if it's private, I don't accept. So as a web developer IMHO your number seem a little high. An important thing to understand is your dont have to launch at the highest capacity at first but you have to be able to scale. By default, it lists all new accounts, new certifications, and new media posted. You can filter to show just new accounts, just new certifications, just new photos, or just new videos if you want. This is separate from your profile feed that only shows activity from your "Friends". John aka cobeachbum

That probably wouldn't even cover the database design. A new site would need to be well designed, otherwise you are just patching it all the time to make it work the way intended.
