I read an interesting article today about how much microplastics our clothes shed, especially in the wash machine were the end up in the water supply if they are too small to be filtered out. The author discussed solutions for reducing them but skipped over the most obvious one, one which most everyone on this would say is the best one. They did say do laundry less often. The next logical step is....
Some say wear only natural fiber clothes. I say don't wear any.
In perfect world, I would agree. Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world. We share it with textiles. Unless you're one of the fortunate few that have been able to avoid them entirely, clothing sometimes becomes a necessary evil While I'm not a fan of wearing clothing, much like everyone else here, when I do have to, I only natural fibers if at all possible.

Yeah non-textiled is the best solutions. Plastic is such a problem. Theyve found it in every organ in the body. We drink and eat it since everything is wrapped in plastic. A study of PFAS chemicals from goretex and other outerwear is another big problem.

related dishwasher soap used to come in a recyclable cardboard box and poured out into the compartment in the dishwasher. Now it comes in a plastic tub encased in disolvible plastic packet. That packet becomes micro plastics that are flushed into the waste stream. News flash cleaning supply companies . It was not broken , it did not need fixed.

Here is a good challenge for a nudist. Try to go 24 hours without touching anything plastic. I've read about people trying this. No one has been successful. I'm convinced I could do it, but it would take a lot of planning and camping in the woods in good weather.
