I write to people sending nice general messages and might get 1 out of 10 responded to. Then see a lot of people complain that people dont write... Getting real tired of it.

I hear you and know what you mean, I sometimes send out a few messages to my friends and some respond and some don't. I am lucky though to have good friends who do keep in touch,  So hang in there, it will get better. David

I like to talk - have a great knack for it actually so feel free to chat me up.  I am about as diverse as they come; art, sports, theater, rebuilding my old mustang, kids, camping, reading, hunting.  I know what you mean though - i like to send emails and catch up with people, but those times when it feels like noone else is writing back it seems pointless, but don't stop just find someone chatty.

There definitely is a point in checking last login date. Nowadays the registration date not so easily seen, but comparing the two would be most helpful. Truth is that most people here seem to be for some other kind of communication than written message exchange. Chat and profile browsing probably main reasons, or hooking up with people they are interested in and continue in Yahoo or other IM programs. If that is the way, there is probably nothing that can be done but hope more communicative people will join in...

I do check dates on when someone last was on before I try to friend or send a message. Its even ruder to try and chat with someone in the chatroom that justs ignores you without even saying their busy or what. What are they in the chat room for if they don't want to chat.
