i have read about these rides around the world and have seen pictures even in the usa of folks actually riding nude down a public street, how cool. they had one in atlanta a few years ago but it was behind a mall around 9 pm didn't make it and not sure how many folks showed up and if it was a true naked ride. would i participate in a naked bike ride, of course that would be cool, maybe vermont...

I asked the Toronto Group if anyone was going. Not an overly active group, I guess! I'd love to but still am not sure I have the nerve.
I have a friend there I could stay with and she'd love to see me make a fool of myself. When else can ya ride through a city starkers???

I have getting the emails about World Naked Bike Ride.  My problem is that I am unstable on a bicycle, but I have wanted to watch a naked bike ride, to encourage them (with thumbs up sign).  While most police departments don't want the publicity of interfering with a World Naked Bike Ride, there has been some trouble with the law.  At the Washington, DC, World Naked Bike Ride, the police insisted on hiding genitals, consequently men were using socks or duct tape to hide you know what.  I believe I would wear my thong bikini to play safe.

Proably won't take part in naked bike ride this year, but we have on 12th in a village of Padasjoki coming up a 10 km nude run called "Nakukymppi". If my schedule allows, I will go there. Anyone interested to know more, google up "Nakukymppi" or "nakukymppi + padasjoki" and u'll get info. Due to list policy I won't post any links. On the official site there is also a brief summary in English.

Actually, it's really comfortable.  With the constant movement of your legs undies and trousers tend to chafe, and a naked chest is very cool on hot days.  Also, since they're in a draught, your genitals shrink a little and don't rub on the seat. I'd recommend giving it a go, but then I have no idea why anyone would want to sunbathe!

whenever i go camping at nudist clubs i always bring a bike, i have never had a problem with riding nude my butt and groin area are just as comfortable nude as clothed  and most clubs i visited had gravel or sand roads. i think it would be great to ride especially on a paved road. i notice most photos of u.s. bike rides the group weren't large does anyone know the adverage size of most rides.

In the Seattle area each year, they have one in the Fremont Area.  Most of the people have body paint on.  I am not sure if I would do it or not.  I like the majority to be nude with me.

I'm definitely going to the one here in Toronto.  I've never participated or even watched it, but from the chatter I've seen online it seems to be a fairly large event.  Toronto police are very cooperative, and don't give any of the nudists a hard time.  The rule here is that you have to be wearing something - anything - such as shoes or sandles, a bike helmut...

I am hoping that a few people will rendezvous and ride together.  Any GTAers interested?

We have gone to the one in Chicago since they have started there.  From some people to an estimated 1,700 last year.  We will be back June 13th again.  It is the best time and friendly people.  The event is planned for months and very organized.  You will find clothed, half clothed, only undies(why I don't know), painted and fully nude riders and roller bladers.  The ride will be between 7 & 20 miles long at a rather slow pace.  Last year at one point there were so many spectators only two bicycles could fit down the street at a time.

    Fun, Fun, FUN!

I would recommed it to everyone!

mmm     I wish there was one round here......
Maybe you could think about organising one for next year?  These things only happen because someone starts out thinking "I wish there was one round here"
Their web site has pointers on how to organize a World Naked Bike Ride.  The pointers cover such topics as publicity and even the police.  Again the web site is http://wiki.worldnakedbikeride.org/

Camlite, I did London & Brighton.  I had an accident in London, had 8 stitches, checked out for the Brighton ride with head bandage, passed out & ended in intensive care.  Now that's hardcore!
