What naturist organizations do you belong to, and why did you choose it/them? I'm thinking of joining AANR. Is that the one that is broken down it regional parts, too? The problem is, I think, that Texas is neither in the South or Southwest, and I'm not sure who would consider it Midwest, either. What would you call it?

FlokieOct 15, 2015I expect the AANR website has a map that breaks down their regions but I'm not a member so I can't be more helpful than that. I did belong for one year about two decades ago but, at least at that time, I found their publication very club-oriented and since I didn't belong to a club, it wasn't that interesting to me. Around the same time I joined the Federation of Canadian Naturists (FCN) and then eight years ago I also joined the Naturist Society (TNS) so those are the ones I'm more knowledgeable about. I enjoy the publications, appreciate the discounted entry fees at member clubs and like the knowledge that they work for the rights of naturists. Sites like True Nudists are great for networking but don't do anything for the bigger picture.ReactReply - FU
FullSunOct 15, 2015We belong to TNS. Two reasons 1) I really like their quarterly magazine N. 2) the discount it provides for going to our local club adds up enough to make up for the membership in TNS. The discount would be the same if we were AANR members and it only really applies in our case because we do not attend quite enough to make club membership cost effective.

GSNPhilOct 15, 2015I belong to TNS and AANR but forgot to renew my Florida Free Beaches membership. I plan to do that tho. The discounts are nice but they don't do much for me personally. I just feel like being a member is the best way I can contribute to the "cause". I like the TNS magazine too but I wish they would offer the option of getting it as a PDF file instead. They take up storage room here and I can't bring myself to throw one out. They really are that good.

20 year TNS members here. Both orgs are at least a voice for nudist causes. ANNR seems to lean toward clubs and TNS more toward beach/public land advocacy.
