i noticed a lot of discusscusion about piercings/tatoo's  but i love being a nudist with the rest of you and yes i do have extra hardwear but they  are for my own doing not anyone elses, and they dont mean anything special  it just my personality . I  mean i got my ear done 6 times both my nipples done and my toung done and 2 tatoo's . The most i ever got asked about is my nipples but i explain why when i get asked and it is kinda fun explaining . So really i dont see why people make that big deal of piercings/tatoo's because thay can explain why they got them or what made them get them . So i would like to see how many of you are with me on this and got  a piercings/tatoo that can explain why or not ashamed leave a response

Never had a problem with tats.  I have several and each has a story to go along with them.  They represent a point in my life that I wanted to remember.

I don't have a problem with piercings.  Excessive piercings occasionally gross me out and it's not something that does it for me particularly, but to each his own!

I have a tattoo as well and I've already planned my next three.  Someday I hope to get my tongue pierced as well.

No tats. Not now; not ever. Same with piercings. I have a neddle phobia; don't trust them to be clean. Yeah, I know, they open an unused, sealed needle in front of you but I STILL don't believe it. They can still be contaminated at the manufacturer. My take and that's the way I stay. Anyway I have seen piercings that give me the shivers but Your body, your rules. I HAVE seen both tats and piercings that I thought were interesting. Just not for me.

Personally, tatoos and piercings are not for me but if those are the types of things that turn you on, then go for it. I do get grossed out by some of the penis piercings that I see but, as long as it's not me, I can live with it. What I have always found strange is the fact that women, who will take six monthe to decide on which shoes to purchase, will have little problem in deciding on getting a permanent tatoo.

As some of the others have stated, neither are for me. I do, however, respect others' individuality and freedom of expression. I find them acceptable in a social setting UNLESS their intentional purpose is to draw attention to the genitals or if they are blatantly offensive.

you know this is the 21 st century and anything goes so if your happy with it go for it. only piercing that weirds me out is the one in the tongue , and the nipples i saw a u-tube where a girl was getting hers pierced and she was freaking out, but i still want mine pierced and will probably freak out too when it happens. as for tats i would even do one or two small ones but covering the body doesn't do it for me but remember this is the 21 st century and seems anything goes so enjoy life its your path to choose.....

The only extra metal I have are the earings in my ears. I'm allergic to pain so you'll find no tatoos or piercings on me.

I have had acquaintances who had to remove them temporarily if they were going to travel via airplane.  Metal detectors do pick up those easily I've been told.

Only one advisory: stay indoors during thunderstorms. Being a walking lightning rod is hazardous to one's health.
I do remember hearing a story where a nipple piercing saved someone from dying when they were jit by lightning, bot sure if its just a n urban myth or how that would happen.
Now, THERE'S something for Jamie and Adam--the Mythbusters--to check out!
They did. Busted.

i have had my pa for years now and refuse to take it out at the airport.  I've only set the scanner of once, i'm sure they had something to talk about after i dropped my shorts to show them why the scanner went off.

Only the earings in my ears plus my Jewish star, wedding ring and a couple of small chain bracelets...oh of course, my 3 toe rings.

I generally have no problem with people's tattos, but one lady has a butterfly on her thigh and that butterfly has a penis inked into it.  She pointed it out.  I did mention that it should have not been mentioned.

Genital jewelry NOT piercings are not appropriate IMHO.  Piercings are okay as long as they (IMHO) are not over the top.

To me this is a very simple thing: It is your body! Dowhateveryou want to it but remember:Be prepared to cross a bridge and prehaps never return back from it with your choice of body tattoo/piercing/modification!Also remember in a social nude setting:Children/Young AdultsPhsycial appearance on your choice of body modification lets say you look like this:That person there he is called "Lizard Man" that is one his own photos just found from a Google search. Lizard Man is a human who wants to be a lizard as much as possible. To change his human form into a lizard form. That's how he got his name. EDIT: I changed his photo it was way too big and got a smaller one!!! I had no idea it would up take up a whole webpage. Opps! SHOULD YOU BE AROUND CHILDREN / YOUNG ADULTS?? DO YOU NOT AGREE IT COULD NEGATIVELY INFULENCE THAT VERY EASILY INFLUENCED CROWD!! As I said earlier : Do you still want to hang out amoung other nudists of all kinds without being limited to a nudist activity that happens at 1:00 AM, pitch black outside where a group of 5 heavily tattooed/pierced/modifyed people can other get together??? I myself am a grown adult. Personally: I love and accept all people. You could have your penis cutt off with a glow in the dark stick in it's place be a glowing, green guy. Cool! But 99% of the crowd would certainly cause you constant verbal even emotional harm for such an appearence. Being called on for jokes, slurs, and horrible things. I myself find it offensive and do not approve though look at the whole scope of things: It is your body! Dowhateveryou want but just be prepared for possiblesocial consequences!!               ~Thomas PS: People mention pain. Pain is no big deal to me yes things hurt though if anyone has even broken a leg or arm. That hurts 100 times more than any piercing could possibly be. I have broken my leg from bicycle riding. I took a bad fall and well it hurt!! Many piercings within already a month or two you see signs of significant healing. Even after a week or so, swelling, brusing, blood coming out of your percing has gone down some what. Within a year , then two years and three years you really forget about most of that stuff. Just like when I broke my leg. It was a short time in our life we wanted to decorate with a tattoo or piercing. Life moves on, our body is has an amazing healing mechanism within it!
