Problems uploading photos

Hi Everyone

First ever post

I can no longer upload photos, even low res ones, I have even used to old uploader and I keep getting the following message

"MIME type and Extension do not match"

Hope someone can help

    There appears to be a size limit. The last picture I uploaded was 1.247 MB. You may not get an error that the file is too big, it just would load.

    Now think I know where the problem is

    A few months ago I was messing about and foolishly hid all my photos on my Mac and when it came to un-hiding them for some reason they've returned in a different format so they wouldn't upload onto this site (they still upload onto my Flickr account though)

    I have found away around it though as I transfer any photos to 'Finder' and I can upload from there
