Promoting the Nudist Life Style.

  We need more appearances in TV and movies that show we are normal except for how we dress or dont dress. A television series like Roseanne (1988-1997) may help, but to get that on TV with current censorship rules would be difficult to not make it look cheesy.

  Before we can promote nudism as a healthy and natural lifestyle, we must first try to eradicate the idiots who enjoy publically displaying their perversions, like oversexed rampant rabbits.

  People have a tendency to fear the unknown. But curious just the same. When Im at the nude beach I like to give a friendly hello to gawkers or curiosity seekers. When they respond back and will converse, I have a conversation with them about how great being nude is. Surprisingly, I have made a few comfortable enough to try it.

  We can try forwarding positive articles to a local paper or news organization. If you get the chance to actually talk to a news person like at the fair or local venue that would be great.

  Why? I have never understood folks' desire to promote the lifestyle and accompanying belief system. Some naturists are downright evangelical and mean about doing so, and if you don't agree with them in every way, you are discriminated against.

  However, if I was going to, "Promote," it, I would do so by promoting my non-landed group and Internet marketing.

  At one time, years ago, I saw a website called naked news. It was like a standard newscast except all the reporters and talking heads were nude. Is that website still around? Does anyone else remember it?

  How can you promoted nudist lifestyle in the States ?

  In a country who is AGAIN nudism, even topless in not allowed on beaches... (L.A), even nudist pools in Las Vegas are topless allowed....and not nude...in SF is 60 % of the people clothed on Baker Beach...

  No public naked sauna for men/women...

  Yes, a few nudist campgrounds....if they where in Europe, there would be closed by to expensive and old stuff (we visit Lupin Lodge)

  And Tampa Caliente (The hottest party on the Planet)...lol....we stayed only one night....and were very happy with that....

  Haulover and South Beach in FL that are nudist or free beaches....maybe because that is not the real America...

There is camping at almost every nudist resort in the US, so there's dozens of those. There are 15 clothing optional beaches, three resorts, and a few clothing optional hot springs within a three hour drive of where we live in Northern California.[/quote] Clothing optinal beach...is not a nudist beach Clothing optinal hot springs.....is not a nudist "wellness" 3 resorts.......waw....In The Netherlands they are 62 nudist campgrounds,, 6 nudist hotels, 120 nude sauna, 83 nudist beaches and 48 swimmingpools where people can swim nude (some moments of the month)...for 17 mil people.... Stop thinking your country is nudist frienly.

Do you agree with this and do you have any suggestions to help make this happen?[/quote] In response to the original questions for this thread, I would agree that more is needed to promote nudism and naturism for that matter; in my mind this would be something for TNS and AANR to really go out and do through different ad campaigns and things of that nature. I guess I also see this as being somewhat on the clubs and resorts to, although maybe to the extent of they would want to advertise to get more business, and then relying on TNS and/or AANR to help educate people on what they are about. I know this isn't completely happening, but this is what I think could or should be maybe with a little more effort then we see today. On another front (and this is something I honestly feel I need to get better about doing) as someone who goes to clubs/resorts. I think we or those of us who are nudist and/or naturists we to should be more open about our interests or participation. Now I don't think we should be out pushing cause (so to speak) or anything like that; but even just telling someone if they ask why you went to a certain camp site or beach. I mean if they ask where you went one weekend and you answer Valley View and the follow up is why haven't they heard of it, chances are they didn't because its a nudist club. I've even taken to wearing a shirt I got from a naked car show; so where I am going is that we can promote nudism without forcing it on anyone and honestly that might be the best way of making our case.

  I have to confess that I am not a member of AANR or TNS and should be to increase not only the awareness of nudism, but to lobby for more open venues that at a minimum should be clothing optional such as beaches, pools, and parks. Even if these places were open during specific hours it would be an improvement. There could be benefit with more World Naked Bike Rides, especially if held in locations other than major cities.

  I posted this under another topic, but it fits here as well.

  We need to somehow get the media to delineate in the public mindset the non-sexual nudists from the popular image. At the same time we need an icon that can be made into pins or labels that can be displayed like other icons used for support of breast cancer, gays, etc.

  The number of nudists that belong to organizations or web sites may be the snowball on top of the iceberg. With some symbol we can wear in public, maybe we can get a better measure of how many nudists and nudist supporters there are.
