On my thread about checking in, there have been a few comments about the check in staff being nude.
For those of you who have been to multiple resorts, how common is this?

Been to two "resorts". One in Mexico, Hidden Beach. This is a great resort where you can even go to dinner nude. The staff is always fully dressed.

At Hedo in Jamaica, the staff is always dressed and you have to wear clothes to dinner. Many people wear mesh clothing which is allowed, but you have to cover up with something.

At the small "campground" resort we frequent, most of the staff is nude.

Of the 3 resorts we have visited, the only time I have seen the staff with clothing is if the weather is off. Even then it was only a shirt.

    Here's my experience:

Harbin Hot Springs: Because the office is on a public road, the office staff is clothed because anybody can drive up and enter the office.

Sequoians: The staff is usually nude.

Willamattans: When I was there, the office staff was clothed, although access to the resort was controlled by a remotely operated gate.

Laguna Del Sol: The office staff is clothed. While it's on private property, there's always the possibility of some random person going into the office from the (clothed) parking lot, and I think that the policy is part of keeping the peace with locals.

We have stayed at the former Club Orient, Cypress Cove, Caliente and a campground in Upstate New York. We have never seen staff at any of these places nude.

The smaller, more rustic resorts are more likely to have staff that are members/managers; and therefore more likely to be nude. At the bigger resorts they are usually actual employees; and employment regulations might prevent them from having to work naked.

It can make a difference. For newbies, interacting with a naked person right off the bat, on their first visit, can be off-putting. But for experienced nudists, it can make for a more pleasant resort experience.
On the other hand, it may also help the newcomer to feel more at ease with the new experience they are about to encounter.
That is also true. I had a chat with a newbie couple on my last resort trip; and the young lady said that seeing the woman at check-in naked actually motivated her to be naked too. So they walked back to their car, got naked; and then checked in. It made sense to her that her first interaction and introduction to nudism would be done nude. I guess it all depends on where people are at in terms to actually wanting to be "all in" as regards to social nudity.
At our club, the office staff is usually covered. Their reasons are that they interact with the general public and service vendors all day long; FedEx, UPS, USPS, propane/waste management/contractors, repair services. Many are nudists and live on the club property but don't want to make these outside people feel uncomfortable.
I've heard that one too. And I can understand it. At Bell Acres, under their previous management, the lady at the front desk would always wear a sarong. After I got to know her, I asked her why. And the reason she gave me was precisely what Andy said; plus the fact that the A/C in the office was very strong, and she would get cold. But if they were enough naked people in the office socializing; she would step from behind the counter, leave her sarong behind; and have a chat naked.

A nudist hotel is not exactly a resort. At the Vera Playa Club Hotel the whole staff is clothed. I only remember one of the animators walking nude around the pool announcing the next event in various languages. I liked her funny German. And her courage being watch by everybody at this moment. All the other animators were clothed.
Even the pool staff is clothed?
There were no pool staff. Not like in Germany. Maybe the animators and the waitors of the pool bar take an eye on the pool.
We go to Cypress Cove annually. The staff is always clothed. However, on our last trip their female concierge/tour guide was nude the whole time and gave her tours nude as well. One day, while at the pool, the bartender had taken drink orders from some who were in the water. When he returned with his tray, they were still in the middle of the pool. He set his tray down, stripped off his clothes and waded out in the pool with his tray to serve them. Everyone at the pool applauded him!
Is there a lifeguard or swim instructor?

At least two of the bartenders live at the Cove and are nudists, so that was probably a good excuse to get nude for a few minutes while working, which they otherwise arent allowed to do. We had a similar occurrence at Laguna del Sol where the restaurant hostess had to get nude and go into the volleyball pool for something. She was wearing only a sun dress so it didnt take long to get undressed, head into the pool, then get out and redressed. Staff there arent allowed to be nude while working, either, and I think she lived onsite as well.

Never knew there were tour guides. Probably a volunteer rather than an actual employee. We will be there Thursday for Nude-a-Palooza weekend and Im interested to see if we notice tours going on.

Ive talked todo e of the staff at Laguna Del Sol. One in the office said they have to deal with delivery people, unsure visitors, or even go take care of some issue on the property or even outside the gates so nude isnt very practical. The one that made the most sense was the pool maintenance guy saying he has to work with chemicals, debris in the filters etc and the clothing is protection. I believe he also worked some of the landscape work and with power tools. Theres one gal there that is kind of the ambassador and staff contact for visitors generally wandering the pool areas, she lives there and is always nude. .

Chemicals and debris wash off skin more easily than clothing.

The only person I ever saw doing maintenance on a pool in a resort was at Harbin Hot Springs. And he was nude. But the only thing he was doing was skimming debris like fallen leaves and such from the pool.

I guess it would also depend on who you call "staff." At a couple of resorts I've been to, there are people who have duties in keeping the lounge chairs from being bogarted by pool users, and who welcome strangers and introduce them to the services, and who run the gift shops and snack bars. They're all nude. But they aren't paid staff, but volunteers.

Solair is member owned, but the office staff and the maintenance staff are paid employees and are dressed. Occasionally a member will be doing something in the office and may be nude. New visitors are given tours of the grounds and interviewed by members who are part of the membership committee (the "yellow hats" for anyone who has been to Solair). These tours and interviews are done nude.

we recently returned from a week at desert sun resort in palm springs CA.
all the office staff, housekeeping staff, and maintenance staff were clothed all the time.
one waitress at the restaurant went topless while others at the restart were fully clothed. this one waitress walked around taking drink/food orders and delivering same while wearing only stretch pants, shoes and socks. while i have not visited many CO resorts, this was the only staff member i have encountered who was less than fully clothed.

With the exceptional of bare Oaks which bills itself a a clothes free facility I dont know any resorts/parks that require staff to be clothes free and most naturist venues today tend to be clothing optional so stand to reason the same applies to staff unless there is clothing requirement due to health dept codes

The resorts I have been to, the check in staff and the restaurant staff are dressed. At my club, members are often nude in the office and there are hiking trails that begin/end outside of the main gate so I know nudity is allowed there. I think it may be do to county regulations.

The staff are nudist and when off duty, they are nude.
