  Some people would rather their boss, clergyman, relatives, etc., not stumble upon their photos on a nudist site through an innocent Google search. By limiting access, there's less of a chance that the cat will get out of the bag, so to speak. Then again, just posting to forum will put your smaller picture in Google's web.
  
  Now if none of that is a concern for you, then you don't have to use those options. But some do have legitimate concerns, and I can understand that.

But some do have legitimate concerns, and I can understand that.[/quote]  I restrict just my nude shots to friends only, because of the very remote possibility of a Google search turning up a naked photo of me.  I picked a user name that is far from my real name.  I once Googled "catbird" and my profile showed up on page 47 of the search results.  Who would have the patience to scroll through 47 pages of Google search results? It is up to you whether that possibility bothers you.

It is up to you whether that possibility bothers you.[/quote]   Mine wound up on page two at least once. Someone else wrote to me to say I was on page ONE of their search. Other times I had to look quite a bit to find. I guess it depends on Google's mood.   Once I was doing search for my username since I use it elsewhere as well. True Nudists came to the top of the list. That's when I decided my profile pic would have to be for friends only. However, I posted the same pic a second time on my page, so anyone can see me whether they are my friend or not. For a GOOD look, they at least have to log in as a member of TN.

I saw everyone, including myself, Linda, Cheri and many more.   Nope, there's no hiding!

  The bulk of  our photos are designated for TN certifieds and/or friends only because we're not here to share our pics with everyone. Just those we've gotten to know.  Before the "right-click" protection was initiated on this site, I actually had one person (who I met in chat)admit that they liked one of our pics so much that they had copied it.  He was not on our friends list.   From that point forward we restricted the majority of our pics. As a matter of fact that person became a probelm in the chat room, was flagged by many, removed from the site and then returned under a different name just to harass me, whence he was removed again.
  
  Our prior screenname (along with images) was also showing up as the first entry on a google search.  We, personally, may be nudists but we're not exhibitionists and I don't care for just any one to have access to our photos. We don't carry around our pictures and show them to any Tom, Dick, Harry, Jane or Mary we bump into on the street, why would we let people we know absolutely nothing about have access to them?
  
  As wonderful as this site is (and I am a very loyal member of it), not everyone who joins or views all the pages that are open to any one not logged in are nudists.
  
  That's my 2 cents.

  Since, most if not all, of my friends and neighbors already know of my nudist activities, the photos in my profile are without restriction. I guess that I am in the fortunate position of not caring who might see them.
  The truth is that since they don’t know of my membership in TN or my screen name, they would have an almost impossible task  were they to actively search for those photos

  When I was employed I would definitely have restricted viewing of nude photos to certified true nudists due to concerns related to employment matters.  Now that I am retired I no longer have that problem.  To date I have only uploaded one photo other than my required ones to become certified but if I do I will probably not restrict viewing as we are after all a nudist site.  I think this is a factor which each of us must decide for ourselves based on our own personal issues.

  I can't understand the people who join a site such as this for the purpose of viewing pictures only.  There are thousands of sites which show pictures designed to appeal to prurient interests which would be more appropriate for them than pictures of real nudists.  I have found some so-called nudist sites which contain or lead to porn or semi-porn.  I never return to them and if that were my interest I would never return to a true nudist oriented site such as this.

I'm just wondering if I should take the profile pic I have here away from some of my other sites. My username and real name may not be the same, but anyone with sufficient eyesight to read print on a computer could probably put two and two together when comparing pics.

  I just tried a google search on my own user name, and the results were shocking!
  Not only do my photos come up, but also every post I have made in the forums...seems that google has found a way around having to be a member to view profiles.....there is no place to hide from the all powerful google search!
  Any other members of this site are just as vulnerable to a random search, and a request for any info on me also opens up any other member to scrutiny! Maybe there should be a little tightening up on access to this site....only logged in members maybe?
  While I am retired now and have few concerns over who sees my pictures, it could be very uncomfortable for some members...
