Hello Community,
I am a filmmaker working on a short film about an experimental theater troupe set in 1969. I am looking for actors, dancers, and performance artists who are comfortable with their bodies to play the members of the troupe.
I will be filming in Los Angeles in early April and rehearsing in the weeks prior.
More info follows.
Best wishes!
Eben

SYNOPSIS : In the spring of 1969, a young grad student

visiting a rehearsal of a experimental theater troupe is

drawn into a cathartic ritual initiation.

COMPENSATION : Credit (end credits, IMDB credits, credit on

the website)/ Meals / Copy of the film

Casting Call for: The Troupe (19-60), Featured, All Ethnicities

Freaks, hippies, and disenchanted intellectuals attempting to cast off the

emotional armor and internalized repression that life in society has taught

them. Foot-soldiers of the non-violent revolution, their utopian dream is of an

egoless society, where love conquers war through psycho-dramatic group

therapy.

This is a work of historical fiction focusing on the experimental theater scene of

the late 1960s. *To be true to the time period and the events we are

referencing, some partial to full nudity will be necessary.* As film-makers we

are committed to working with sensitivity to our cast and the material, and to

building a strong collaboration based on shared enthusiasm and mutual

respect.

Best of luck, Mr Portnoy, if you can get people to be foolish enough to take part, that is of course if you are able to raise enough funds.  30 days to raise $6,000 and with two weeks to go, you've only managed to get $1,630  from a few gullible people.
You have chosen the wrong site for volunteers.  This is a site for true nudists and your film will do nothing in helping the nudist community to become accepted in society, as a normal way of life.

No, Raven, you didn't miss anything.  I checked the guy out, and he is of no benefit to the nudist community.
I don't know why he came to this site. Perhaps he thinks all us nudists are naive enough to be interested in his little venture.

I apologize to anyone I may have offended by my post. To clarify a few things, MOW, I am not trolling for random "naive" people, I am specifically looking for actors, dancers, and performers in my area who may be interested in collaborating on this project. My aim is to pay tribute to a time in theater when public nudity was seen as a revolutionary act, and within that context to explore the emotional journey of a character being guided through a release of repression. I meant to do no harm by sharing that goal on this forum.

The Op has neither solicited money from anyone nor linked his website. He has merely asked for those who might be interested, to physically participate. He asked  for people who are comfortable with their bodies. Most nudists are comfortable with their bodies in an unclothed or partially unclothed environment. What better place than TN to find subjects like this.... sort of like nude art models.  His project will not portray the nudist community negatively nor positively, and I don't think he is trying to scam anyone out of money because we are naive.. All I can say to the OP is,  good luck with your project, I hope you get your funding and are able to make the film... Hopefully a member or 2 can step up and be in a movie!!

I'm sorry if my post appears harsh, Raven, but it cartainly is not meant to be hostile in any way. It is merely my opinion, albeit not that of everyone.  Perhaps I could have chosen my words with a little more care, but that would not have been the the true me.

Eben, I wish you luck with your project, but I feel you have left it rather late in your search for participants.

Of course many people do not want to waste their time responding to people with private profiles.

No Bruce, as far as I'm aware, his profile has never been public. AND, I did not blast him, as you so put it. I merely stated my opinion.
This is an odd one. Not sure why MOW blasted him & retracted. I'd be interested in how he checked him out-was his profile public earlier? Where did the fundraising issue come from?
    Just curious.
Hey Bruce!!  just google his member name...its a few down on the hit list
