[strong]Day 1[/strong]: Today was my first full day naked. It started at 5:00pm yesterday, and now it's just after 5:00 pm. I'm trying for 30 consecutive days, without ever putting on a piece of garment.

I'm doing all this camping, out in the Arizona desert. I'm in a travel trailer on BLM land. I actually live full time in this trailer. I just tow it around the country. I do all my work online. Right now, there is no else around for at least a mile in radius. This location is well away from where snowbirds tend to camp. I'm not even sure this place is even known by other RVers as a long term camping destination. I found it just by studying the BLM maps and Google Satellite maps. My wife expects to be gone for about 4 weeks traveling to visit friends and relatives. She enjoys nudity also, but doesn't do so often.

Temperature yesterday when I started this, 56/30F. Today's high was 60F, and the low is expected to be 34F. It's been breezy too, and it's just too cold to go outside nude for any considerable length of time. Later this week it's supposed to rise up to the 70s. I hope to go out for a little walk then.

Otherwise, the longest I've ever gone nude was 7 days, and that was also camping. I plan to post daily updates on this thread.

[strong]Day 10[/strong] - Warmer again today. I took the scooter for an extended ride today. I didn't mention the scooter? It's a little 50cc Honda. I went out about 4 miles down the BLM road. The road gets pretty soft in places, and very rocky in others. Otherwise, looking at the road on Google Satellite Map, it looks like it goes for dozens of miles. I got to a point where the road was getting more rocky, and it didn't look like it was going to let up any time soon, so I turned around. I spotted a cross road along the way, and I figure I can go explore that another day.

My trailer is a toy hauler. We don't have a lot of toys aside from this scooter. Otherwise, the toy hauler is great because because it ca carry more cargo weight than travel trailers. I like to think I've paired down my belongings to just the essentials, which is a light load of clothes, my laptop and computer gear, a few toiletries, and tools. I do have "other things" in this trailer, but they are not things I consider myself attached to. For example, I have a frying pan, a coffee cup, the scooter... But these are things that I wouldn't take with me if I had to abandon everything and carry only what I could in a backpack.

My wife considers herself a minimalist, or at least a fan of minimalism, but yet has far more things that she can't seem to live without. When we took on the life of living on the road, she cleared out lots and lots of stuff. She went from 80-90 pairs of shoes, down to about 12 pair of shoes (now in this trailer). That's why she sees herself as a minimalist. Myself, I have 2 pairs of shoes, my boots, and my sandals. She realizes that guys can minimize far more than women, but there's just no way for to limit herself to just boots and sandals.

Yesterday, I reported seeing another trailer camped nearby. It is still there. They are about a mile away. I didn't see the occupants around anywhere today.

Attached photo is of my riding the scooter through the desert. I found a rock I could sit my cellphone on, and then set it to a 10 second delay. Then I had to hurry up and get moving...

I'm glad the weather warmed up for you. It must be a big morale boost. This being a holiday weekend and the first warm warm weather we've had in a while, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more people out recreating in the desert. I may try to get out later next week when everyone is back at work/school. Enjoy.

But better news is that the night time lows are going to warm up too, like low 50s. No more of this 30s crap.

Day 11- Kind of a stay-inside day today, despite it being warmer again. Lots of sunshine. I should have spent more time outside, especially it being a holiday weekend. But then again, when you're camping alone, in the middle of vast desert, wilderness perhaps, you're never aware that we're celebrating Presidents Day. For that matter, I'm not really aware of what day of the week it is. Being naked for this many days straight has given me a greater sense of openness about my feelings. I wonder if that's something that just comes natural when you don't have clothes on? I wonder if wearing clothes tends to give us some kind of symbolic facade with which we can hide our truths behind, and instead put up false fronts. Maybe it's not something we are consciously aware of, but perhaps feeling so secure behind clothing, cosmetics, our cars... are all facades that allow us to be disingenuous with ourselves? I did make it outside to get a good look at the rubber seals on the ramp door of my trailer. They certainly have lost their resiliency. They remain flattened out from being closed against the door, and as a result, they have places where rain can get through. The good news is that there is no rain in the forecast for awhile. I had thought about setting up my fire pit, but I don't have any wood to burn. There are pieces of old Palo Verde wood laying around here and there, but it seems like a lot of work to gather it all up. I may give it a try. Attached photo is of a field of lava rock. Much of Arizona is ancient lava beds where volcanoes spewed up magma tens or hundreds of thousands of years ago. There are fields of black lava rock everywhere. Even in Northern Arizona, there are lava beds as far as the eye can see.

Day 12- 12 Days of being continuously naked, all out in the desert of Arizona, miles from nowhere. Feels great. Weather was perfect today. Skies totally blue. I did venture out on the scooter. I actually rode in the direction of the other camper, which had been about a mile away from me, along the BLM road. I couldn't see them, so I figured they had left. I got about 1,000 feet away, and I finally saw them. They had moved their truck and trailer to a different location, maybe just a few hundred feet from their old location, perhaps to get better shade, or something. I stopped the scooter, and was about to turn back, when I saw one of them. This person looked to be nude also! I didn't want to ride over there, because I'm sure he/she could hear my scooter approaching and would head back inside for clothes. And besides, anyone who camps out here, in the middle of nowhere, doesn't want to be bothered. I turned around and rode down another trail and found an area that looked pretty nice to camp in. I was very tempted to move my trailer there. Cell signal was still solid there too. It would give me more seclusion, though there's hardly anyone around. However, I would have to secure stuff into boxes to move the trailer, hitch it back up, and so forth. For now, I'm gonna sit on it and decide later. Venturing out through the desert naked feels great, but yet different than the feeling you get just after you've removed your clothes. I don't feel that "I'm finally naked now" feeling. It's more like feeling natural, perhaps in the way Nature had intended. That kind of naked. I walk out of my trailer naked, with no concern if anyone is around. I don't even look around. I jump on my scooter and ride off with no concern if anyone's nearby, or if anyone else might drive by. There are moments when the thought comes into my head that if another truck or car happened to come by, and they see me riding the scooter, or hiking around, buck naked, if they would smile and get a quick laugh, or if they would feel uncomfortable seeing "some weird naked guy" roaming around. I've gotten to the point of not caring so much, and leaving for when the circumstance actually happens. Attached photo: It was finally warm enough to open the ramp door on my trailer and get more air flow inside. I have a bug screen to keep the insects out. The ramp can double as a patio too.

You wrote that being naked for this many days in a row has given me a sense of being more open to my feelings and you wondered if this comes for living for an extended period of time without clothes. Good question: I wonder what answers youll find. I wonder if thats in part because youre alone.

And you wrote of losing a sense of what day it is, with a holiday weekend coming on. I wonder if it, too, is a matter of being by yourself. I remember reading of prisoners in solitary confinement scratching tick marks onto the wall to keep track of the time. Youre not in solitary, except voluntarily because you want to stay naked. But your insight about being more in touch with feelings, and losing a sense is time, as a consequence of having been naked and, except for cyber-contact, isolated, is fascinating. Ill be waiting to here more about this.

Any further sightings of the neighbor who appeared also to be naked? I wonder how the dynamic would be changed by the presence, however brief, of another naked person.

[quote]Any further sightings of the neighbor who appeared also to be naked? I wonder how the dynamic would be changed by the presence, however brief, of another naked person.[/quote] I'll keep an eye out. But keep in mind, this larger area of where I'm camped is mostly void of any campers aside myself and this neighbor, meaning people don't want to be bothered. There are more popular camping grounds to the west, in Yuma, Lake Havasu, and Quartzsite. These areas have BLM grounds, and where clothing-optional campers have set up for the purpose of having company. There are also kink campers that flock there too. I have not camped with these groups, but if I did, I'm pretty sure I'd spend most of time by myself. I'm just not that social. I prefer to write, as I'm doing here, and go into my thoughts.

I've also been to nude beaches, and they are enjoyable to visit. When you're visiting a place where nudity is expected, it becomes a more relaxing feel, but still maintains a temporary environment. That is, it feels great to finally remove your clothes and get some sun, but you have to put them back before the day is done. And, everyone else who's there is under that same constraint, and thus it changes the dynamic of nudism. I know there are nudist resorts where you can spend several days, or weeks, or months, nude. But then, the idea of having to pay money to get naked, and staying under another property owner's rules, just doesn't feel that "free and liberating" to me.

Hence, I like this idea of nude camping on federal land better. I can actually wander naked for 20 to 30 miles in any direction, camp anywhere I want, and practically do whatever I want to do. But, it comes with the caveat that you have to be here alone, or with your spouse, and that any venturing out to visit neighbors is generally an imposition.

You have captured in one sentence what i would struggle to say in a short essay.[/quote] That's the way I feel too. I also have to be doing something. Sitting on a beach in the sun bores me, but playing in the water or sand with my grandchildren is great. I can swim for awhile but my endurance is not great. Walking the beach would be something to try after I get my new knee.

Day 13- I took another extended naked ride through the desert on the scooter. I rode for 10 miles. I wanted to check out this other crossroad I found the other day. It was still full of water in some places, requiring me to find a path around. But eventually, I arrived at a fence line, and figured I had come up to private property. I didn't cross through, and turned around. Thus far, of all the times I've ventured away from camp, either hiking or riding the scooter, I haven't added any more of a tan than I already had. I usually keep a very light tan. I do have the type of skin that tans easily. I recall as a kid my parents would go camping in the desert, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, or surrounding BLM areas, and I would turn brown. My mom would say that I looked like a Navajo. Talk about my parents, I think they were the ones that opened the door for nudism. They would ditch their clothes once they got our camp set up. My dad had a 1976 Chevy van that he customized. It had carpeting, a bed, wood paneling on the sides, stereo speakers, lights, a cabinet for storage, a place to mount one of the old Coleman coolers... That was all the rage back in the 1970s, customized vans. They would sleep inside, and I would sleep outside, in a sleeping bag on a hammock. Eventually, they stopped doing the naked camping thing, but we still kept camping once or twice a year. However, I was hooked on nudity. When my parents were not home, I would go bare inside. I would also dare myself to go outside, for very brief moments. But when I heard the van pull up to the house, I would put my clothes back on. Somehow, I couldn't get myself to be naked when my parents were not naked. I was not expressive with them at all. I felt very uncomfortable letting them see how I felt inside. And, I stayed that way into my adulthood. It's only when I met my second wife (current wife) that she helped me feel more relaxed at expressing myself. Though even now, it's still not easy to do. When I'm around other people, I can see how my closed-off expression impacts other people; they tend to remain closed-off too. And that has a lot to do with me being solitary. Attached photo is of my scooter at the end of the road, where it becomes private property.

Day 14- Still naked. Still here. Temperature was warmer today. It's supposed to get into the low 80s tomorrow (Feb 19, 2020). I went out on another scooter ride, this time to see how far I could ride along the BLM road. I got about 7 miles out until the road hit a long muddy patch (from the rain nearly a week ago). I didn't attempt to ride around it like I have done in other muddy patches. So all in all, 14 miles of naked scooter riding today. Otherwise, I got some work done on a client's website. It pays the bills. They pay us a monthly fee to maintain their hosting and do whatever changes they want done to the website. Some months they don't need anything. I find that I'm using the radiant heater less and less as the days get warmer. I'm writing this right now at 9:50pm, and it is getting cool inside the trailer, but I'm not cold. I wonder if my body's metabolism has adjusted, and is keeping my core warm, but letting my skin cool. The thermostat inside my trailer reads 71F, while the thermometer I have outside reads 58F. And that's without a heater running. Don't have a photo to share with you today.

Day - 15- And I've reached the half-way point of my 30-day continuous naked camp in the Arizona desert. I'm doing pretty good with supplies. My water tank still has plenty in it, I've probably only used about 25 out of 100 gallons. My sewage tanks seem like they have plenty of capacity. I do pee outside now and then, so I think that helps. I also have lots of food left, plenty of burger patties, sausage, chicken breast, rice, beans, canned food... There's actually enough food to last me another month at least. I still have half-a-flat of bottled water, and a few 8-pack cartons of flavored seltzer water. My propane is doing good too. I'm still using the two original tanks I started this with. I still have two more full tanks waiting to be used. My on-board generator still has about 20 gallons of fuel, and it's a 36 gallon tank, but I started this challenge with about 22 gallons. I only run the generator to use the microwave oven or my Instant Pot. My website development work still keeps me busy. I actually like doing this stuff. It gets me focused into my intellect, and once I get into a groove, I can go from morning to midnight. I have to tell myself to get outside and enjoy some sun. As for the sun, it was a warmer day today. I had the ramp door down most of the day. It felt really nice to get that occasional breeze blowing into the trailer while I worked on my laptop. I did get out for a walk, twice. The first time was just a mile loop from the trailer and back this afternoon, and then I did the same loop again around sunset. I did spot someone riding a side-by-side along the BLM road today. I heard them go by while I was working. That's the first OHV rider I've seen since I started doing this. Thus far, I've stayed in touch with my wife. She's still in California visiting friends and relatives. She's been through San Diego, Riverside, Bakersfield, Tehachapi, and now she's up by Placerville. She expects to join me probably around the first week in March. By that time, I should hit my 30 days. She's quite intrigued by my challenge. I basically told her at this point that I'm going to focus on remaining nude as much as possible, even after we leave this area. I'm trying to imagine myself starting this new persona as the "naked guy". I imagine my wife's friends will refer to me as her naked husband. There have been times when I did in fact remain nude when she had a friend come visit. I guess, I'm not sure why I felt I had put on clothes when other friends came over. My wife doesn't really mind it herself, she's just more concerned with nudity causing her friends to stay away. The attached photo is of a Creosote plant blooming. I just now noticed today that many of them are starting to sprout blooms...

Thanks for continuing to write about your naked adventure, and letting us read about it. Glad to hear about your communicating with your wife, and for letting us in on your interest in living as "her naked husband" when you return to civilization. I do think that there are some interesting shifts that one makes both in one's body and one's psyche when one experiences living naked even for more than a couple of days at a time: it would be interesting to hear about how the world feels, both tactilely and psychically, after thirty days of naked life. Sounds like you don't need much encouragement to "hang in there". Allen

[strong]Days 16 & 17[/strong] - The weather has remained warm yesterday and today. My outside thermometer read 80F for the high today. Winds have been blowing all day today. Looks like a storm is coming in. The forecast says 80% chance of rain tonight, with 70% tomorrow morning.

It's a good thing I got to spend some good time outdoors today and yesterday. I did a 10 mile scooter ride yesterday, which was about 3-4 miles out on the BLM road, then found a large flat area where I could go off-road and explore for a bit before coming back to the road and returning to my trailer. Today, I did a mile walk. I've been doing these mile walks, which are just one mile loops from my trailer back. It's mostly to get myself outside and away from my laptop. Otherwise, I could easily stay at my laptop all day, and just work, work, work.

I notice I"m getting more tan too.

And yeah, that's why I wanted to do this, to get my mind and body to make that shift. I wonder how much I'm hiding behind these fabrics in terms of being able to exaggerate truths, tell white lies, or otherwise give people the wrong impression of me.

About a few months ago, my wife and I watched this documentary about "Nasubi", a guy who had entered a Japanese game show where he was required to live naked in a one-room studio, and the only way he could ever leave or get his clothes back, was to enter sweepstakes contests published in magazines. He had to win enough prizes to get out. Except, the show had become so popular, that the producers didn't want the show to end. So, just when he thought he had finally won enough prizes, the producers forced into another challenge, denying him his clothes and freedom. So, he did everything they asked, and the show continued to air. Eventually, it went on for 15 months. [url][link]https://www.truenudists.com/link/fd9a54b36a3bfc89/aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi53aWtpcGVkaWEub3JnL3dpa2kvTmFzdWJp[/link]Wikipedia link here...[/url]

Afterwards, he found that his body could no longer handle the clothing. He would get hot, sweaty, and itchy, and had to live naked for some time longer. He also had difficultly with conversation, mostly due to living solitary for 15 months. I had also heard of people who were raised as nudists, and also feeling confined and uncomfortable with clothing.

I don't want to put myself in a position of feeling hot, sweaty, and itchy from wearing clothing. But, I do want to shed my habits when it comes to clothing. Somehow, when I wake up in the morning, my first reaction is to reach for clothes. I still keep several t-shirts, and it's mostly because many of them bring back memories of where I bought them (a cool little bar in Minnesota, or an awesome brewery in Oregon, etc). Why do I always buy a t-shirt to remember a good time? Couldn't a taking a photo do just as well? But so far, after 17 days of total nudity, I have no laundry to do. I could get away with having only 3 t-shirts, perhaps?

The photo attached today is of the other RV parked nearby. When I say "nearby" I mean they are one mile away. I walked about 1/2 mile, and found a low-rise to stand on, enough to get a decent shot of their rig. Keep in mind, you can still barely see them in this photo...

Days 18, 19, 20- Still going strong, still staying naked. We got past a short but heavy deluge of rain a few days ago. Didn't get out much that day. The following day was not much better, still chilly and breezy. Today, I managed to go out for a 2 mile loop walk. Warmer today, and clear skies. Sun felt good. I actually had a propane tank hit empty. It was the one feeding my trailer. So, it lasted 20 days. I just switched over to another one. I still have another tank currently connected to my portable radiant heater. Not sure how much is left in there, but there's still some left. I still have one more tank in waiting. So after 20 days of total nudity, I can certainly sense a shift in my awareness. My conscience doesn't really tell me that I'm naked. I mean, if I think about it, I can feel that I'm naked, but otherwise, I've lost that alarm in my head that I should be looking around to see if anyone is watching. My skin feels different. I'm sure it's not physically different, but I'm just reading it differently. Or maybe, my brain has adjusted to accepting it as my new external boundary, and not clothing. I guess it's hard to explain. Without clothing covering me, my hands touch my skin more often. My skin is fully exposed to the air, its temperature, the breeze... It seems like when I eat, I can feel very tiny pieces of food falling on my body that I would not have felt with clothes on. As I walk throughout the desert, I can feel the weak, faint string of web where a spider had caught a breeze and launched itself into the wind. I wonder if skin has it's own awareness, aside from our brains. If you consider that skin is made up of cells, and brains are made up of cells, and cells are made up of elements and compounds. It's all the same stuff. So, if one were to permanently live without clothing, then would skin develop a keener awareness? Could it sense other objects, things moving around me, even without touching me? The hair on our bodies, even the fine little peach fuzz, can be moved by the most subtle breeze, the faintest step of an insect's foot, the static charge building up in a nearby conductor. Perhaps clothing has dulled the senses of our body's largest organ. We are not aware of what we are not tuned into. Attached photo is of my trailer with a sunset. Not a spectacular sunset, but still gives a perspective of what's around me...

Two-thirds of the way through your thirty day proposal! I bet youll make it - unless something weird happens. Im imagining scenarios but Ill keep my imaginings to myself.

Im really intrigued by the sensory changes you report as you are able to remain totally naked (except for shoes) for a longer and longer period of time. What you report seems consistent with my experience, though mine is limited to ten days naked at a naturist venue. But then it occurred to me: the difference between a naturist venue, where there a people in close proximity in various states of dress and nakedness, as opposed to a BLM location where you are essentially isolated. Being in a situation where you essentially lose consciousness of being naked because no one else is around might be different from being naked where youre surrounded by naked people, but in a gated community: does the open country vs. gated community make a difference?

And how would/will that sensory experience change when you finally have to go for water, propane and groceries? When Ive been without clothes even for only two or three days, my inclination is to stay naked for as long as possible after Ive gotten into the car and travelled a long way down the road.

Since my longest time nude is only 2 days and 3 nights, I can't comment on sensory changes when doing so. I do know that after several days shirtless or weeks without wearing long slacks, those states of dress become normal, and when I have to wear more, it doesn't seem right.
