Theres something I really don't get!!!
The other day I send a friend request to a gentleman here and the next thing I notice is that he changed his profile message to "NO SINGLE MEN" also I have requested friendship with many females and yen I have none on my friends list! Does it have to do with me being single and?or gay???? cause none of those spell pervert! I'm just a regular guy looking for friends... to share and exchange ideas not to have intimacy or sex... I know I'm not the only one cause I read a post addressing the same topic some time ago! So we are here and we dont understand why the textile people discriminate or find strange the nude people and yet here we are judjing and discriminating against single people
so I really don't get it!!!

Gerry-4Jul 12, 2010I can't speak about chat since I usually can't get in. But I believe the Friends List is a little over-rated. Most of the people I speak to most often aren't even on my list.
As to why people don't want to include you, there can be many reasons, everything from homophobia to flipping a coin.
I'll still make a request every now and then to some people, but there are more people sending ME requests at this point. And they're almost all men. Nothing wrong with that, but then I've given up on my dream of having 50-50 representation. On this site, it just won't happen unless I turn down a LOT of men. And I do mean a LOT!ReactReply - IV

While the gay movement in America[ the melting pot] is the new thing, some of us believe that love is between a man and a woman. Creation of the human race began with that and I doubt you will do better by plugging a butthole. No, I'm not judging the gay people here, but "so we are here and we don't understand why the textile peoplle discriminate"Is not a valid question. Personally, I don't like queers [This might get me booted...again] but this is not a troll, or homosexual ,or lesbian ,site. "Don't ask, Dont tell" There are Gay sites for you to join. Don't start shit, there won't be any shit. If I have misunderstood you, don't start shit. DOG.
Don't get me wrong DOG but you are disgusting! I'm not here for a date! I have a loving partner for the past 6yrs! Don't confuse being gay with being weak cause that not the case! You sound like a rely MACHO! a man??? It takes more than your bad words and attitude to be one! Love is universal to all... ok ok I know you cant love your son cause he's a male... you are a male chauvinist the type that think to cry is for the week the type that wont say I love you to their kids cause thats the women's job the one that commit the hate crimes every day! I didn't chose to be gay and I'm not even close to be a queer or queen or any way you want to call it I'm a MAN that happens to like other men not a pervert or a sick person like you are CABRON I don't really care for an other friend I's just curious how people have such a closed mind and then ask for toleranceReactReply - IV
IvanMatosOriginal PosterJul 12, 2010Paw_the_DogI'd love to see you eye to eye to see if you really can speak your mind like that in front of me! CABRON... But then... I'm a gentleman not a dog as you are!CABRONReactReply - UP
UpstatenudeJul 12, 2010The way I see it.... being online should be treated as "real life" I don't run down the street asking people to be my friend, nor if someone rejects me as a friend do I keep badgering them over and over, we would look at anyone doing that kind of behavior as a complete lunatic and have them locked up... Instead, I talk with someone, chat it up bit... might even find out their name, so I can forget it as they walk away.... but that doesn't quite make them my friend.... I typically have a hard time with names... so in "real life" I consider someone my friend.. if I remember their name, that means we have talked enough and gotten to know each other enough for me to bother to remember it.... now... here on TN... its not much different... you read peoples posts... you send a message or two.... if they respond in a nice accepting way... and you have some common interests.... THEN... you send a message... saying "Hey, mind if I make you my friend?" if they do great.... if they don't.. move on... As far as status's go.... I don't really care what you are, or if your Gay, married, Looking... or if you like to chase furry animals (I know thats not an option yet)... not really my business.... However... I am not Gay... and I don't Chase woodland creatures.... So those are areas that someone is interested in... we obviously wont have those things in common... so, if i get a friend request... from someone that is Gay, BI, or any other combination (even if they are straight for that matter) If i don't see a message or anything that interests me in their profile... I will click "Deny" button I also check the certified status, if you aren't certified then I might get out the coin... Have said all of that... the bottom line is.... "Try to make friends on TN like you would in Real Life"

IvanMatosOriginal PosterJul 13, 2010Hey DOG... just a joke! is it?
Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained talked about their kids. The first guy said, 'My son is my pride and joy.He started working at asuccessful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday.'The second guy said, 'Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday. 'The third man said: 'Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire.. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion.'. The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: 'What are all the congratulations for?' One of the three said: 'We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons. ....What about your son?' The fourth man replied: 'My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub.' 'The three friends said: 'What a shame... what a disappointment!'. 'The fourth man replied: 'No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends ;)

"THEY CAME FIRST for the homosexuals,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual.
THEN THEY CAME for the Christians,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Christian.
THEN THEY CAME for the Dogs,

THEN THEY CAME for me

UpstatenudeJul 13, 2010

Ejecting a person because of an unpopular opinion is something one would expect in a tyranny, not in a free country.
Well, as you have said before, this is a private group, organized by an individual, and they can keep or pitch whom they like just as they set the date format.
Please lets not bring up the date format again.... And do remember that peoples beliefs are very important to them,(I would guess almost as important as yours are to you) sometimes we don't like them, sometimes they don't like us... its part of being a large group of people from all over the world.... Some people Just don't like Gay, Lesbian, Baptist, Catholic, White, Black, Mexican, Jewish people...(I know I missed a few but I wanted to keep this short) it doesn't really matter why they don't like them, you will not change their opinion in a forum setting... no matter how hard you try, their beliefs or up bringing has ingrained into them that {insert Group here} are horrible horrible people. My way of looking at it... we are all here for ONE reason... because we share a common interest, and its not my job to judge you based on your life choices, that will be your creators job when your time here on earth is done. Until then, try to get along and remember, and no one is obligated to like your life choices. (no matter what they are) GOOD LUCK....ReactReply - JA

ReactReply - MEMemberJul 13, 2010

It has a lot to do with experience. When my wife and I first joined, we were deluged, I mean bombarded with friend requests from single males. Guys who never sent us a message, engaged us in conversation, no previous contact at all. It became very apparent that mainly these guys were just wanting to see any nude pics we might have had for friends only. I'd be willing to bet that anyone who has some pics hidden under the "friends only" setting, gets a lot of friend requests from single guys.
But you also have to consider that lots of people on here are what we call "friend whores". You get the same types on Facebook, My Space, etc. They just collect a long list of "friends". Realistically, they're not friends, just a list of people online.
Says the man with over 650 "friends"....LMAO! Sorry, everyone, I know this might be misconstrued, but that really tickled my funny bone and gave me a good laugh.

LifeHappensJul 13, 2010Per the original comment:
Put in your profile what you want to put in there. Make it so that it conveys a sense of who you are. It doesn't have to tell people everything about yourself, it is more about giving someone a flavor of personality. If someone chooses to focus on minutiae rather than the larger picture, don't sweat it. Move on. If you get angry over every small thing that occurs to you, then you will essentially be "crying over spilled milk."
On a personal note, I tend to agree with people concerning some of the classifications and wonder why they are present. Normally I prefer the "less is more" tack, but in this particular instance I actually wanted to make a statement on several fronts. I am more conservative than many people. I have been called a "man's man." I want to show that stereotypes and prejudices have no merit in our society in a surreptitious manner. And if, along the way, there are people that do not want to communicate with me due to the minutiae in my life then I count myself lucky that I don't have to deal with that person and move forward.
On the converse, I will be THE FIRST person to hit that deny button if you send me a blind friend request. I HATE THAT! I will forever question your true motives if you send me a friend request without making an attempt at a conversation. If you went to a local restaurant to eat and saw a table filled with 3 people and there was an extra seat, would you just sit down? No, you would get to know the people before EVER thinking about going to dinner. I know this is an over-simplified metaphor (dinner = friend request), but I think it conveys the point.

UpstatenudeJul 13, 2010Forget reading peoples profile... if you want to know who they really are... find something they wrote in the forums... I think the forums are where people tend to show their true colors, and you can get to know the person from the "inside" and know what they stand for... after that take a look at their pictures, not to see what they look like.. but to see the kind of pictures they post...Does it reflect the kind of person you would like to be your friend? .... THEN... read their profile. Sorry about the ramble, for some reason I just decided to browse the forums today... there is really a LOT of information in there if your read "between" the lines...

Lifehappens and Upstate, I tend to agree with both of you. We communicated with most of the friends we've made here via either the forum or the chat room. Then we looked at their profiles, groups they've joined, pictures. Then we decided to add them to our friends list. Not always necessarily always in that order, but pretty much.

westheathenJul 13, 2010
For me it'd be the sexual orientation. I'm really not interested in meeting gay or bi people online and I have a feeling there are many others on here who feel the same way. It's nothing personal, I'm sure it's the same way for those who deny people based on religion or relationship status.
I am not gay myself, but have encountered gay people both socially and during business to realise that they are the same as hetrosexual people apart from one subtle difference. would you discriminate against them if they supported a different sports team?ReactReply - LI
LifeHappensJul 14, 2010

sorry NudeInMA, according to French law: " Constitutes discrimination any distinction between individuals because of their origin, sex, marital status, physical appearance, their surname, their health, disability, genetic characteristics, their sexual orientation, age, political opinion, trade union activities, membership or non-membership, real or supposed, ethnic group, nation, race or religion ". (Article 225-1 of the French Criminal Code). Sexual orientation and racism are in the same law.
And that means that they are the same thing? By your ludicrous "logic", anyone who discriminates against another person based on "origin, sex, marital status, physical appearance, their surname, their health, disability, genetic characteristics, their sexual orientation, age, political opinion, trade union activities, membership or non-membership, real or supposed, ethnic group, nation, race or religion" is a racist. "That person is too old!" "You're a racist!" "That person is single." "You're a racist!" "That person is a Presbyterian." "You're a racist!" When a person is reduced to flinging the charge of racism, that person has lost the debate.
Think the term being sought here is "prejudiced."ReactReply
