Time to Lighten Up??
While there are many serious issues to be discussed, let’s not lose sight of why we are nudists in the first place. It’s fun. Let’s not give the newbie nudist the impression that we are a group with nothing better to do than bicker on line about site shortcomings, perve hunts and fake profiles.
I joined my first nudist club before Woodstock, now ancient history for many of you. I joined because I wanted a place to swim and sunbathe without the restriction of a swim suit. Needless to say I had no moral qualms about being nude in mixed company.
What I found was much more. Beyond the joyous feeling of diving into the pool and feeling the water flow over my nude body, the simple pleasure of a gentle summer breeze and the freedom of just walking around without clothing, I found that it was just plain fun. Aside from alot of pool time I enjoyed the constant volleyball games and other sports activities.
More than anything else, I still value the priceless friends which I made through the years. People from all walks of life, doctors, lawyers, construction workers and farmers. All on an equal footing due to the lack of the “costumes” which we wore in our textile lives. Endless hours were spent chatting and laughing in groups around the pool, even sneaking off to a trailer for a cold beer. The fact that the beer was forbidden on the grounds, at that time, made it taste all the better. Those were troubled times, the Viet Nam War and protests always forefront on the News but we left it all behind at the club. We didn’t consider ourselves particularly liberated. We were just enjoying life.
Some may try to ignore it or deny it but sexuality is present in the nudist world as it is in the textile world. I never met a nudist man who denied that he enjoyed the sight of a pretty, physically fit woman without her clothes. A few women in more candid moments admitted that they enjoyed the sight of a nude man. The difference is that as nudists we are expected to have better manners and exhibit even more courtesy than the textiles.
If the nudist life is to be preserved it must remain fun.

Yes just browsing through the forums, and refreshing to read one that truly is what I believe we all want the attitude to be. nice to once and awhile be reminded of what it is all supposed to be about nudism...and life.
Perhaps the lack of replies to this thread is simply that you hit it right on the mark!!

I couldn't agree more, me do tend to get far too worried about witch hunting and such. Summer is far too short, we have to get out and enjoy the outdoor freedom, while we still have a chance!

gator1Nov 15, 2009We were fortunate to have a gorgeous weekend at LSR in Texas, lows in the low 60's, high's in the 70's with sunshine. Could not have asked for more. We did drive through some rain on the way home, however.

1nakedmonkeyNov 16, 2009Well said! I am new to this particular site, and hope it is a more fun loving crowd than the other one that I used to belong to. If i worried about every person on here presenting themselves as something thet aren't, it would no longer be any fun to catch up with all of my nude friends. I will continue to assume that the people I've met on here are being genuine about themselves until someone shows me that they are not - but I won;t let that get in the way of me having fun. I love being naked becuase it is fun, and it makes me feel good to enjoy the world without clothes. But mostly it's fun! Keep up the good work, and thanks for welcoming the new nudies with word of wisdom!
