What does the popularity rating men?

Anybody explain to me why there is a popularity rating please
I see everybody as equals. Nobody is better then another person

    As far as I know popularity is determined by the number of times one's profile is viewed. The more views, the lower the popularity number.

    I had always assumed it was views, too. But "Most Viewed" and "Popularity" are two separate sorts in the search feature, so I checked. "Most Viewed" is what you'd expect (longtime women members and couples) but topping the "Popularity" list is a Greek fellow with almost 10,000 friends - it does seem to be friend count.

    Or, perhaps, our inherent worth as human beings is they key after all.
