In my experience, nudism is only for fit people..a certain degree of imperfection is accepted only in older people.
What do you think about it?
It shouldn't be that way..

If that's the case, I'm in BIG trouble!

Everyone should strive to be as fit as possible, but if we waited for people to become fit before adopting the nudist lifestyle, we'd have even MORE trouble attracting people than we do now.

There is even a handicap ramp to a picnic table overlooking the water. Thomas

Riellox, sorry to hear that's been your experience. Ours has been far from that! We have found that social nudism has been accepting of everyone's physique and physical abilities.

Nudism is for all people, in my view. If someone has a problem with the appearance of another, then that's their problem. No one is perfect, and I'm certainly in no position to cast stones. While I do believe we should all exercise and watch our diets (for health reasons- medical bills are expensive), that doesn't mean one needs to look like a supermodel. Relax. Follow Mr. McFerrin's advice - don't worry, be happy!

Agree with all the above posters......the only caveat I have to add is, sometimes nudist publications and promotions, both print and online, are their own worst enemy. Many times these venues go out of their way to portray young men and women seemingly carved from marble, and this only dampens enthusiasm from some of our more sedentary potential participants. Especially women.

By the way when was the last time you visited a landed club and experienced what you wrote about? Your quote, "This is especially so within the landed venues. The babes and dudes gravitate to the beaches. There are very few perfect bodies in naturist circles."

Every venue I've been at, all sizes and shapes mingle in many different areas. We've never experienced "the good looking ones stand over here, everyone else, over there."

By the way, EVERY BODY is perfect. Our bodies are a sum of how we were geneticly made and how we've taken care of them over the years to include battle scars of life's events. All is part of who each and every one of us are. This is the basic core of nudism, being comfortable to be free in your own skin w/o judgement. Every so called, "fit or perfect body," still has an achilles tendon or two."

Once again, I add my two cents. I think the media creates "the perfect body image" and people fall for it.. I have only been to two different nudist places, and found them to be filled with the same type of people... Friendly, non-judgmental, and of all shapes and sizes. And the day they stop accepting people based on how they look... I will buy me a large plot of land... and open up my own place!!!!
While your health is important, being comfortable with yourself, and what God gave you is even more important to me. what fun is living if you have to hide? I will stop babbling now and let you get on with your life.

riellox what nudist venue have you been to don't know if i've ever seen a perfet 10 at one but i do see a lot of happy nudist in all shapes and sizes, if we all needed to be a perfet 10 or somewhat close this site may be empty besides isn't it whats inside that counts.

It shouldn't be that way..[/quote] If that were true, there would be very few nudists in the world. Most people do put on a bit of weight over the years. According to the medical profession, it is healthy to put on a few pounds as when oldsters fall, there's more padding to prevent serious injuries. I've gained only 6 pounds during the past 16 yrs. The only exercising I do now is gardening and paddling during our annual canude trip.

I have a good friend who is (quite literally) centerfold material, extremely goodlooking, but he is also on blood pressure and cholesterol meds, whereas I'm a fat guy and in perfect health.....so who's really "fit"? Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, some of us are naturally slim and trim, some work hard at it, some (like yours truly) are just naturally fat and nothing we can do about it. If all you wanna see are beautiful well endowed bodies there are plenty of x-rated sites you can go to see "perfect" bodies. If you're a True Nudist you enjoy all bodies.

Truth be told, when you do run across the occasional super model, few as they are, you may well not notice ! What you will notice, is a majority of happy, well adjusted people, comfortable to be who they are.

But sometimes it's in the perception of what and where something is being viewed. IMHO a lot of naturist magazines and web sites go to one extreem or the other, particularly in their advertising. They either have mainly young and fit people or average and "unfit" people. This may leave the viewers with the perception that nudists are all fit or all unfit.

Blah blah blah. Being fat and weak is killing you. Heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, impotence whatever makes you feel like crap and there's nothing cute about it. I'm helping a fat nudist get whipped into shape and you should help others too.
