    Hello Mike and welcome to our world. Looks like you're doing everything right with your profile so you can meet people. People are reluctant to contact a closed profile or no profile at all. This is not Facebook where you want to amass a lot of "friends". My suggestion is to keep your friends list to a manageable number of real friends and not have a ton of virtual ones.

    Go to Search and look for people starting with your zip code. If you don't find enough, widen your search. Send Friends requests to the people who really interest you. Remember to always include a note with each request. You'll have more success that way.
