Why do some men wear a ring around the base of their penus?
It has nothing to do with nudism.  It is a sexual issue.

I've seen nudists who wear cock rings as jewelry, so I wouldn't pass this off as a sexual issue. It can be a sexual thing (such as a tongue piercing) but it can also be just jewelry.
Because they want other people to have a look at their "dingdong". Nothing to do with nudism.
Knee jerk! And women wear earrings so people will look at their ears, right?

Isn't there a risk in leaving it on for an extended period of time?

Wow, there are some shockingly narrow-minded responses to this question.
Without reading through historical threads I am guessing that there have been many seemingly innocent questions that quickly turn sexual in nature?
If I happened to notice something that I did not understand then I would be curious as to the answer but I must admit that some of the responses makes asking questions a little intimidating.
If anyone wants to see the result of a behind-the-goodies ring, the cheapest way is to buy one of the 6" diameter hair "scrunchies", fold it into three loops, stretch it and wear it where the ring would go — and yes, I've done it to test the premise. Aside from being quite uncomfortable, its effect is erotic. To each his own, but it's not appropriate wear in a nudist venue.  Sorry, Joe, but your feigned outrage is not impressive.
Absolutely HILARIOUS NudeInMA. You're an expert now because you tried it out with a scrunchie?

Why do some men wear a ring around the base of their penus?
(snip).
At many parks that  used to ban genital and breast jewelry, some now do now allow it as long as it's in good taste, ie. not 100 dangles from someone scrotum or such. However, something that is obvious and not in good taste is not allowed in most nudist social situations. I am a club administrator and agree with these guidelines. One club owner has several stainless dangles and at one time wouldn't be welcome at other places, and is now.

All penis rings and other body jewelry just draw one's attention to them. Normally nudists ignore these parts but the wearer is shouting, "Hey, lookie here!" I look and at times am facinated by them. Other times I cringe thinking about the pain the wearer must endure in having some things attached.  This can also be said about tatoos. I say if those things make you happy, go for them.
In the nudist world not much difference than wearing a watch or an ear ring is it.  They all tend to draw attention to a part of the body, but as nudist shouldn't we be comfortable with all parts of the body?
The wristwatch or even fob watch on a chain would be serving a purpose though; or does the mere fact that  a person is naked  mean they do not need to know the time.  (That is unless the watch is worn somewhere it was not intended for).Since when have ears been a sexual part of the body?
More trolls. * Y A W N * If you little boys have such wee peepees that you need to wear a ring to push them out where they can be seen so that the little girls can point and giggle, feel free to do so. It's not our problem. BTW, if you anal apertures want to attempt in your pathetic, childish way to insult me, at least get the name right. It'sNudeInMA.
Good job as always, NIM.

It does sem that many who have made thousands of forum messages do jump on their high horses at a drop of a question often from young and new members. That seems to teh problem here, and that anyone who is not in 100% in tune with their thinking should not be allowed here. So sad
Why do some men wear a ring around the base of their penis?
Wow, lots of thoughts and opinions on this question.  Thank you all. I am glad I asked.  Shows how much I know, can't even spell the word correctly.  I was at a nudist resort recently and a man was wearing one.  My curious nature said to myself, I wonder why he would be wearing that here?  I think because from my limited experiance, I believed it's purpose was for some form of enhancement. So I decided to ask in this forum.

Leaving these things on for any length of time can and does impede the circulation. Use them if you wish but only for short periods.

I've never worn one. I wouldn't judge or be offended if a man wore one near me... No more than a pierced nipple on either a man or a woman.  Its simply jewelery.

Honestly I never understood the dang thing. If you are gonna use it to enhance you during sex, well so be it, more power to you.

Other than that, please no one get offended, it just screams "HEY LOOK AT ME" kinda of thing.

But that is just my oppinon and that's why I don't wear one.

For all of you who do, well if it makes you happy, well that's all it matters.

Either, may all of you have a great day...xoxoxo...Hawk

Because it add an spice on our  sexlife and it  is a great item that I don't get a chance to use. it works so good that my wife gets too loud when we used it and she's worried about waking the kids.
