Im brand spanking new at this. I had a older couple that were my friends in Wyoming who were nudists. We would close down the bar and head to their house to get naked and jump in the hot tub. I wasnt uncomfortable around them so their friends at all . However, that was twenty years ago, and I miss that carefree do as you will or want atmosphere! I am curious on how other nudists respond to one who is a single guy. I am straight and a good hearted fellow, and just wonder how the community reacts to my situation. I would love to hear from you all!

The reception you get if you're single or not seems to depend on where you're living. In your area, there are plenty of nude and clothing-optional venues to explore. Go to the websites The Naturist Society and the American Association for Nude Recreation to find the contact information for your local non-landed club, and see what resorts there are. My impression is that there isn't the bias in West Coast venues that there is in the Midwest.
I have heard plenty of stories around the bare dinner table and the hot tub about strange rules like couples having to produce documentation to prove they are divorced if they are not with their original partner, which seems bizarre. If anyone here can explain that I'd like to know why.
That club or resort may have been dragged into a divorce proceeding, due to a Sugar daddy bringing his sugar baby in and got caught. Rules like that are often a after the incident type of thing.

My recommendation is to call a resort and get a sense for how you will be received and don't bother coming if you don't feel welcome.

I'm surprised that even men can be so discriminatory against other men, who in my opinion are the same men whether or not they have a woman escort. I agree that general checks for all visitors such as for sex offenders are justified, but am wary of demands for legal documentation. Can you imagine that checking into a hotel? I was willing to bring my kids' birth certificates to visit a local resort, but when the manager told me they wanted a signed waiver from their biological mother, I crossed them off the list for disregarding my legal parenting rights. I work in due diligence and it's a very complex field with many records and databases. That makes it ripe for discrimination in that it will be arbitrarily applied.

Don't put up with crap just for the chance to hang naked.

I've visited resorts in Florida and Arizona solo and never felt any discrimination. I think it's a good idea to become "affiliated", that is join either AANR or TNS. I think the folks running the resorts feel more comfortable with new visitors that are members. I've been asked at every resort I've visited and shown my AANR card. I can't remember one that did not offer a discount on the resort fees and even accommodation rental for a week long stay. I've seen a few resort websites with policies that either didn't allow or limited the number of solo males. I didn't go to any of those.
