Deleting pictures in groups

Can someone give guidance on deleting pictures posted to groups. Group moderators can do it, but it does not seem possible for members to delete their own pictures, short of asking a moderator to do it.

Does anyone know a solution, or is it necessary to highlight it to the management as a problem which needs resolving?

Any help appreciated.
