I am a genuine long-time nudist from the UK and have been a Smoothie (no body hair) for many years. Additionally I was circumcised at birth. I enjoy the way these both enhance my nudity. I started a club and website for smooth and circumcised naturists some years ago here in the UK as I realised that many other nudists enjoy being the same. Although I could no longer run the club, the website is very popular to this day.
With this in mind I started a new Group here at Truenudists three days ago. It was called "Smooth and Circumcised Naturists/Nudists" and was intended as a "Worldwide Group for Smooth Ladies and Smooth and Circumcised Gentlemen". The condition for being approved for membership was: "You must be smooth to join this Group and, if male, circumcised." Six Truenudists applied to join in the first day.
There are Groups here for Circumcised Naturists and for Smoothies, so why was my Group which combines these two deleted by the Moderators? I am puzzled.

Gerry-4Jan 5, 2011I can't speak for the powers-that-be. However, I do know an effort is being made to avoid the proliferation of duplicate groups. If there are already smoothie groups and circumcised groups, thatcouldbe a reason. But I can't really say.ReactReply - TH

just to reiterate tx_ag, ONLY the site owner can remove groups, moderators are ONLY for the chat room.

I noticed that other groups that started recently have also mysteriously disappeared. This gets stranger and stranger! The implication is therefore that the site owner as deleted some Groups, including mine. But why? I remain puzzled.ReactReply - MEMemberJan 5, 2011no one has the answers you're looking for so the best suggestion is to write tosupport@truenudists.comand ask the owner to provide you with the answers you seek.ReactReply

SmoothieJohnOriginal PosterJan 6, 2011
There has always been a tendency to remove groups that would appear to be a duplicate of others or maybe very similar to others. I am not aware of how a group becomes created and have assumed that a member merely establishes a name for the group, issues guidelines for behaviour and then creates the group and it appears in the Group Listings. Maybe it would be a better idea, if this perhaps does not happen already, that anyone wishing to create a group completes some kind of Pro-forma which is then submitted to Admin. for Approval and Verification. Once Admin. have reached a decision some kind of acknowledgement could be sent to the Creator advising that either the Group has been accepted, or, if not, why it was not. However, this will increase Admins. workload, which is already significant I suspect, and this increased workload would need to be recognised and maybe more members would need to be encouraged to become paying members in order to cover Admins. time and effort.
Thank you for your observations and suggestions. I wonder if the Owner will peruse the constructive comments, such as yours, left on this section of the forum?ReactReply - SM

SmoothieJohnOriginal PosterJan 6, 2011
I would suggest it would be coureous to at least have a message with a reason why a group might be deleted.
Couldn't agree more. Especially as I took a while carefully working out the wording and setting it up - AND we had six members in the first day all of whom will wonder why the group no longer exists! They probably think thatIhad second thoughts and deleted it!!ReactReply - PH
PhilfreeeukJan 6, 2011If you join a group, the option on the link to that group on your profile, is "Quit."
If you create a group, the option on the link to that (your) group on your profile, is "Close." (delete)
If your profile is deleted, without you first closing your group, it is then orphaned.
If you have created moderators, they can continue to approve new members after you have
left the group or deleted you profile.
If not, and the group is set to approve new members, no new members can join and be approved.
Existing members can continue to use the group forum.ReactReply - SM

As to why, groups that focus on the genitalia (e.g., the status of the foreskin) are generally deleted. That of course would include groups where they are part of the focus. I remain puzzled - especially as I have a successful group similarly named (Smooth and Circumcised Nudists) happily existing on Nudistspace.org !ReactReply - SM

In an ideal world, (where nudity was totally accepted as the norm) we would be able to discuss anything openly, but given the misconceptions and objections faced by nudists everywhere, in their efforts to gain permission to practise their chosen lifestyle at designated beaches and venues, I feel it is prudent to avoid such subjects on a platform that is open to the general public, as it is likely to be counter productive to the movement as a whole. This view is probably taken by the admin here, as this type of group is generally not permitted. Yes some slip though, but if you raise the matter with admin, sighting those already here, it is likely that all you will achieve is to flag up said groups, and they may be removed also. btw, imho, there IS nothing, that NS won't tolerate!ReactReply - CA

Why should mine be singled out? In any case surely that is what Groups are all about: A collection of like-minded individuals. Nudists always say they should tolerate but here is clearly an example of discrimination.ReactReply - SM
SmoothieJohnOriginal PosterJan 6, 2011
TT1 relies on members to flag inappropriate groups. If some of them get by under the radar and scroll off the latest-groups list, they will survive (usually in a comatose state) until they are flagged.
So what is deemed "inappropriate" on Truenudists? Here in the UK many naturists prefer to be smooth - hardly an inappropriate activity. In the US most nudist males are circumcised - hardly an inappropriate activity. So why are the two together considered "inappropriate" and by whom?ReactReply - SM
SmoothieJohnOriginal PosterJan 7, 2011For the record, two days ago (at the suggestion made bysnugglebunnyabove) I emailedsupport@truenudists.comto ask for an explanation. No reply has yet been forthcoming. To sum up:I feel that more initial guidance should be given to members wishing to start new Groups so that deletion can be avoided by obeying the Owner's rules (whatever they may be). In particular, should the Owner of Truenudists decide to delete a Group, he should notify the Creator of the Group beforehand to explain why. A reasonable time to amend the Group to comply should then be offered before total deletion takes place.ReactReply - CO
Total agreement, but two years of this site suggests that isn't going to happen, and by not happening inadvertantly promotes the problem, complaints, misunderstanding, and conflict. I'm sure the unintended consequence is a much higher work load for the owner as well.ReactReply - SM

He will respond, when he has the time.
Well obviously quite a lot of members care, judging from the support I've had, both here and privately. We'll see what TT1 (what does that stand for, btw?) says if he responds - and it doesn't take a moment to do so .. 'tis only courteous to reply, surely. We should all learn from this: IMO Group Creators should be given gudelinesbeforestarting a group then apply to start it offline. On approval, the Group could then go live. If not approved a reason should be given. For me, I have learnt that, despite us believing that nudists are supposed to be tolerant of other's views, many are not. Indeed from experience I venture to suggest that naturists in the UK are actually less discriminating and more tolerant than those from across "the Pond" who dominate this site.I hereby rest my case.ReactReply
