zhaze01Mar 29, 2011
The difficult part is finding a place to camp nude, that isn't a club or resort.
In my case, finding a place isn't all that difficult. I'm surrounded by thousands of square miles of national forest. However, getting to the secluded campsite may be a bit difficult because I have to hike in. Of course, no clothes means less I have to carry.ReactReply - DA
daves_ndtOriginal PosterApr 1, 2011Depending on which forest, you may not even have to hike. Most in the west do not have a general prohibition on simple nudity, so as long as you are not in a developed campground, in a relatively secluded dispersed site simply camping naked is not a problem. I have done this many times. And the BLM lands, of which there is much much more, have the same situation. Have I encountered others at my campsite while nude? Several times, with not problem, even by a game warden one time. As long as you are not being blatant, there are many many places where you can be in your campsite nude.

Cheri Donna DawsonApr 2, 2011We used to tent camp when I was younger and didn't have asthma or severe back issues. It was fun and totally relaxing. We did tent camp a few times not in a nudist park/resort: in the Pisgah National Forest when I rented an entire group camping site until we learned we weren't able to be nude.

GimpyAug 23, 2015In the national forests in Oregon, there are many dispersed camping spots that you can drive to. They are are on unpaved roads, but most are accessible by passenger car.ReactReply - GS
GSNPhilSep 13, 2015
Wow Peter! ... what a great story, well done! and thanks for posting it here.
Methinks there must be a few deleted messages here. For example, who is Peter and.... what great story? Personally, I prefer camping at a resort. I've found several with 100+ acres of trails and secluded campsites, small lakes, etc. So rather than worry about an even slight risk of a problem being nude on public land somewhere, I'd rather worry about the even smaller risk of being thrown out of a resort for wearing clothes (and in my case, that risk would be approaching zero.) I'm happy to donate $$ to TNS and AANR to advocate for no risk on public land and beaches. But for my risk tolerance level, we're not quite there yet.ReactReply - WO

ReactReply - SUsunnmaxxOct 2, 2015We have some camping friends that have been able to find some private sites and even a couple on state reserves where they circle 5 or 6 trailers and spread tarps between the gaps and campout nude for the weekend. there is enough space in the middle for campfire and tables etc.ReactReply

Jim ShortsOct 16, 2015
Unless you are willing to backpack into the backcountry or find a really isolated Nat Forest or BLM drive in campground, about the only places to camp nude in noCA are the resorts which are easily found on line. I don't know if there is a nude beach that would allow overnight camping but that might be an option. You'll have to do the research. I don't think anyone else has.
I have no problem finding nude campsites because the places I go are so far off the beaten track almost nobody else goes there. Alternately if someone is there already, ask if they'd be ok with nudity.
BLM?ReactReply - GS

atldavisOct 16, 2015Going to try for some naked camping and hiking this weekend with a TN buddy. Tough sometimes to find sites and trails that are remote enough, but we're going to give it a try!ReactReply - SUsunnmaxxOct 28, 2015Ever try putting an add on Craigslist looking for secluded private place to camp?ReactReply
It occurred to me, if I stay in the area where I am, I could by just a few rural acres somewhere outside of town just for camping and perhaps hunting.ReactReply - MEMemberNov 6, 2015I've got the same idea for a few acres further out in the woods. It would be a, sort of, weekend retreat. I'll keep you posted if I move ahead with the plan.ReactReply

MitchNov 7, 2015I have done some nude camping in Big Bend National Park a couple years ago. But it was in January and after the sun went down so did the temperatures. Being nude and shivering is not my favorite thing.
I look forward to some nude camping in the spring or summer though.
