  I think you might be right. I've climbed a little and you end up with scratches and bumps all over. I dread to think what state you'd be in naked.

  Had that same notion at Smugglers Notch in VT, Nope never again got plenty of pics of the hole in my sack to prove it

  OP might have meant free climbing, which is an activity that some will do nude with varying degrees of gear. The ultimate attempt is bare feet and hands, no chalk, no harness, no rope, no pins. Friends from the University of Calgary, which grants actual mountain climbing degrees, have completed naked free climbs. They are all still alive.
  
  I would never make an ascent without at least chalk and ropes, but it is definitely a thing.

  Here is one good example who goes a step further and also doesn't use ropes.
  Strange that somehow advertisement for "All the climbing gear you need" is at the beginning, when all the climbing gear he needs is none at all.
