Nude Hiking Day (Friday, June 21, 2013) — Things to do nude on True Nudists

Just a little reminder to you all that Nude Hiking Day falls every year on the Summer Solstice. This year it will be Friday, June 21, 2013. So start organizing your local hike. We already have a fair amount of interest for our local NC/SC nude hike.

I'd love to hear of anyone else who has had free hiking experience, or who have participated in Nude Hiking Day in the past.

So, get to organizing!

I have not. I have hiked in the Pisgah National Forest, the Appalachian Trail near Hot Springs, NC, and I hike the Mountains to Sea Trail at Falls Lake when it's raining (and warm enough).

Hiking in the rain is one of the greatest naturist experiences I've had, and it's the best way I know to increase the likelihood that you won't encounter other hikers on the trail.

Where in NC are you planning this hike? I see you've done the trail at Falls Lake which is a hop/skip/jump from my house and I'd be interested if close enough to Raleigh.

I know of a couple of trails in Seminole county which would be good. I'll probably be hiking nude June 21 even if we don't end up as a group.

The Huckleberry Island unit of the Lake Marion Preserve is near my house (Davenport/Haines City area), as is the Osprey Unit of the Hiloche Preserve. I have ONLY hiked nude in both areas, and they are well suited for that. Hiloche offers hike-thru potential if you leave a vehicle at each end, and there are several geocaches in the area if you're into geocaching.

I am off work that day, so I should be available.

Seminole county is one of four counties in the state where simple nudity is a crime in and of itself even with no lewd bahavior involved. They also treat it like a sex crime. I would not recommend hiking ANY seminole county trails nude.

On Saturday, 6/22, various members of three Southern Californian clubs (SCNA from LA, NitOC from Orange County, and the Camping Bares from SD) will hike down to Deep Creek Hot Springs in Apple Valley. Those who wish to, will camp overnight at Bowen Ranch and head back down to the springs on Sunday. If you're in the area come and join us, whether you want to hike down one day, or stay overnight and enjoy both days naturally!
