I had already posted this in a private group I'm but I thought it might be interesting topic to visit.

So I had the opportunity to spend some time in a resort last weekend. Water Volleyball is very popular there. So I was curious if Water VB is popular in other places. Well, other than Texas.. It is very popular here.

Definitely - played most weekends as my local resort. In the summer pool is packed many weekends and in the winter there are tournaments.

I think they play water volleyball at the Willamettans in Oregon when the weather permits and there are enough people.

As I recall Andy, H2O Volleyball is only popular with those who can't play real volleyball. LOL. Those of us up on the play court had very little patience for the going ons of those down in the pool. I think Mike, Neal and the others would all agree ... except for maybe Jill. She played it sometimes. One; those people are out of their minds and 2; their quality of play is amateur at best. The one time I played and I made a steep downward kill, they yelled at me for being too rough. I exited the pool and went back to play real volleyball. I miss GE volleyball and our A level team at tournaments. . It sucks here in Ohio...

Any game can get weird when people become over-competitive and suck the fun from everybody else. We've probably all met people like this. When that happens, I just quit playing with those people.

To the best of my knowledge there are only about half a dozen Real Tennis courts in the UK and I have never heard of any in the USA.

In my 4 meter x 16meter pool, we mostly play with a beach ball. Great for older, less fit nudists and can be just as much aerobic exercise. We mainly use a big 400- 500mm beach ball. Less hard on the hands etc and very much less predictable! Great fun!

I have not been to a resort or club that has a net in the pool however there is a hot springs pool with a net.

There has never been a real game, just a few people hitting the ball.

I agree. The nudist resort I frequent has a daily friendly water volleyball game. Anyone is welcome to join. Batting around a smaller beach volleyball is still exercise and is a lot easier on arthritic hands. I applaud any senior who is up and moving.

I can't remember the guys name, but he would prod just about everyone there to get involved. John

We play it that there is no limit to the hits per side as long as it does not hit the water and eventually goes over the net.

We usually go on Wednesdays in the evening. Less people and more chill.
