I'm not particularly a pro at maths but I do like maths. I kind of miss my maths homeworks and all. Does anyone else like maths, and/or is willing to chat about it? I might not know everything you do but I love to learn :D

"What happened to your girlfriend, that really cute math student?"
"She no longer is my girlfriend. I caught her cheating on me."
"I don't believe that she cheated on you!"
"Well, a couple of nights ago I called her on the phone, and she told me that she was in bed wrestling with three unknowns..."

A somewhat advanced society has figured how to package basic knowledge in pill form.
A student, needing some learning, goes to the pharmacy and asks what kind of knowledge pills are available. The pharmacist says "Here's a pill for English literature." The student takes the pill and swallows it and has new knowledge about English literature!
"What else do you have?" asks the student.
"Well, I have pills for art history, biology, and world history," replies the pharmacist.
The student asks for these, and swallows them and has new knowledge about those subjects.
Then the student asks, "Do you have a pill for math?"
The pharmacist says "Wait just a moment", and goes back into the storeroom and brings back a whopper of a pill and plunks it on the counter.
"I have to take that huge pill for math?" inquires the student.
The pharmacist replied "Well, you know math always was a little hard to swallow."

Two guys were standing at the base of a wooden pole trying to figure out how tall it was. One guy said to the other, "let's cut it at the base, lay it down then measure it". The other guy said "I don't want to know how long it is, I want to know how tall it is".

funny you should mention this.  there is a sports store here in chicago that has been sponsoring a race on pi day for the last several years - a low key race just over 5k (3.1 miles) on march 14th. in fact it's a 3.14 miles race held on pi day in the evening.  in 2015, since 3/14 is on a saturday, they are starting the race at 9:26 in the morning.  so we will run 3.14 miles on 3/14/15 at 9:26am.

    http://www.khanacademy.org

It is a site that was started under the idea of taking one's education into one's own hands.  The site spans wide but it is great for a casual approach.  The one downside is that if you are advanced in one particular are you can't jump straight to it (this may have changed since I started my account) you have to test up to it.  You can however jump straight into the testing without having to watch the lessons and I believe you CAN jump straight to any lesson video you like.
