Kokkini Ammo

Kokkini Ammos or Red Beach is a beautiful sandy beach in front of dramatic Cretan cliffs. The beach is mostly nudist, though visitors in swimming costumes tend to sunbathe and swim close to the beach bar. Further down the beach are more exclusively nudist bathers.

Follow the 'Red Beach Trail' from Matala village. The trail is a moderate 20-30 minute climb. At the top of the cliff, follow the trail through the gate and down the path to the beach.
