Lovely day at Brighton with a couple of realisations. Firstly, I have decided that not all the clothed sunbathers in the nudist stretch of the beach are there to perve. On a day like today, the rest of the beach was pretty packed and loud, but over by the mariner, it is super quiet, with people largely keeping to themselves. A much calmer atmosphere all round, and I can quite imagine some people preferring it there, even if they don't get into the spirit of things. (not all textiles, etc. etc.) Secondly, not long before I left, three young lads rocked up, naked, hands over their groins. They were, it transpired, posing for a photo taken by a couple of clothed girls, before racing (still with hands firmly in place) into the sea. I thought, not for the first time, how this attempt at modesty always strikes me as terribly undignified, and as if to underline this further, as I dressed, packed and made my way back onto the promenade, I passed the party - the three lads now reclothed, but in the company of a fourth. The fourth was naked, and brown from head to toe, lying back relaxed and in his element, hands very much covering nothing at all. He seemed a man alongside the boys he was hanging out with. Thirdly, on getting back to London (and by chance bumping into the other half so we ended up heading home together) I stripped off and established that I had missed with the sunblock in a couple of places, a large area on my back, and the middle of my chest. Glad, at least, that it demonstrated the effectiveness of the block, despite it being a supermarket own brand. Definitely need to buddy up for the next visit, though, to take some of the risk out!
