Deep Creek Hot Springs on Monday, October 11, 2010

I made it to Deep Creek Hot Springs on Monday, October 11. I arrived at Bowen Ranch around 10:00 a.m. and it was already a little bit on the warm side. As I was getting ready to hike down (making sure my water and snacks were in order and sun screen applied) a guy that arrived just ahead of me started down the trail nude. I undressed and headed down the trail nude as well. On the trail down to the hot springs, I meet another nude hiker on his way up. It turned out to be a beautiful day. While at the hot springs I spent time going back and forth from the various hot pools to the refreshingly cool creek and met some very nice people (both nude and clothed), and soaked in the scenery with the sound of the birds and water flowing in the creek as I ate my lunch. The leaves on the trees are just barely starting to change color and made for some pretty pictures. Reluctantly, I had to start heading out a little after 3:30 p.m. and I am already looking forward to my next trip to the hot springs. The only one drawback to the whole experience was that some inconsiderate idiot(s) found it necessary to spray graffiti on some of the rocks located a bit upstream from the hot springs.
