Maybe a bit too far?

I originally posted this on my blog, It's a Nude Heat . Since I posted it, Felicity over at YNA posted an article and a poll about the proposed ban. Yes, I am a nudist and Ill be naked whenever it is appropriate. Maybe the folks in San Francisco are taking it a bit too far, though. Tom Mulhall seems to love it :
Well what if you really did walk around naked where mostly everyone else is dressed? It can happen in The Castro neighborhood in San Francisco. San Francisco has a long history of being tolerant of birthday suits.
The trouble is, the folks that live and work in the Castro neighborhood are not necessarily amused by naked folks in the area. This from the Wall Street Journal :
Cleve Jones, a gay rights activist and longtime Castro resident, said there should be a limit to San Franciscos tolerance. "I am not a prude," he said. "I dont believe this behavior would be tolerated by the police if they were doing it in Dianne Feinsteins or Nancy Pelosi's neighborhood."
San Francisco County Supervisor Scott Wiener wants to ban public nudity in most places, but leave it okay for street festivals and other appropriate venues. I dont live in San Francisco, but it seems reasonable to me. I've been supportive of nudity where its not necessarily wanted, such as protests, for example. This doesn't look like social nudity but exhibitionism. Colonizing an area where we arent invited isnt good for nudism in general.
