Prospecting for gold naked

Prospecting for gold in Australia...in the nude! I have been prospecting at an amateur level since 1996. As the saying is true, 90% is research 9% digging and 1% chance about finding gold. I have spent a huge amount of time going through historical records, maps etc.... I go detecting using metal detectors...amateurs ones, till i find enough gold to afford the best of the best the GPZ7000...and I do lots of panning. It is a very physical activity as you can easily go 12 hours walking while detecting. It is very important you have maps and compass and know how to use them, if you go to remote locations like I do.... I like going where there is little chance to encounter someone as i like to prospect naked...whether it is walking and detecting with the metal detector, wearing my snake gaiters of courses, a hat and my backpack with first aid, food and drink as basics...or panning a creek or river or checking a dry one for alluvial gold deposits. It also require a fair bit of equipment as you go to a remote location where there is no one to help you, no network...so you must be ready to help yourself...know yourself, your limits and those of the vehicle you will drive. Know your basic how to survive the Australian outback...practice your foraging skills when you are out and about. I believe I play it safe when going to remote locations alone...I always tell someone where I go, provide them with copies of maps, my intended road, possible alternative roads, when I will make contact next, list of equipment / gear I take with me in the car and what i ll take in my backpack when walking and detecting, I always have a two ways radio, and the most important a PLB personal Locator Beacon to activate if I have an accident or require assistance in a life or death context. The equipment / gear will vary slightly depending of the persin, area visited, time of year in respect of weather etc...so there is no definite list...but you cannot have too much...remember you are tgen alone and can only count on yourself and what your brought with you!
