Random obervations from a job fair today...

While this is not a blog about nudism and with so many people out of work, I feel that this will either make you smile or wonder what people are thinking. I arrived about 15 minutes before the job fair opened up and took the time to notice what people were wearing as they make their first impression with a potential employer. There were over 50 people lined, and another 100 behind me after I arrived wearing a very wide variety of clothing styles. It appeared that approximately 20% of us were wearing business professional, a suit & tie or a female equalivalent of it in blouse and skirt. The other 80% wore a variety of clothes ranging from blue jeans & t-shirts, sport jersies and business casual (dress slacks and golf shirt). What made this specticle even more interesting was listening to people as they chattted on their cell phones or surfed the net. As I looked around, one of the main reasons why people become nudists is that we are very relaxed and don't judge people by the clothes they wear-but judge them based on their conduct or actions. But this time, I could not help but wonder whether they realized that every person there was their competition for a finite number of jobs and that they were being judged by staff of these companies. After waiting for a brief period of time, I got my opportunity to speak with a hiring manager and it went off very well. I had done my homework as usual and answered his questions in a polite and very professional manner. Whether I get the job or not is up to them, but knowing how I came across and what mistakes I need to correct was well worth the wait. Well folks, thanks for reading, take acare and be bare. Paul
