Sunny Haven

My girlfriend and I (along with our travel group) just got back from visiting Sunny Haven Recreation Park in Granger, IN (just outside of South Bend). It was our first visit to SHRP. We rented a chalet for the weekend. They were recently remodeled and it blew me away how nice they were. Bed, flat screen TV, table, deck, picnic tables, etc... Really nice. They even provide free firewood and bbq grills to use. We arrived after 7pm Friday night and was promptly greeted by Terri in the office. Terri is a super nice lady. I've spoke with her on the phone a few times and she's always very helpful. We forgot to bring ketchup so Terri's husband Herb promptly let us borrow there's and saved the bbq. We actually had 2 neighbors offer up their ketchup. I have to say that place is amazing top to bottom. Gorgeous grounds, wonderful members that make you feel at home, huge outdoor hot tub and pool, sauna, and more. Every where we went we were greeted like we had been there a hundred times. The place is almost like cheers. It's so cool. Everyone was just so friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make us feel like we were the guests of honor. I know just about every resort you visit they brag about their members and they should. Nudists are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. But the members at Sunny Haven have to be considered among the friendliest. For example, Saturday morning I got up early to enjoy a few cups of coffee before my girlfriend woke up. I was met in the clubhouse by a friend in the group who is a member at Sunny Haven also and he gave me a nice tour of the grounds and introduced me to some members. Later on Herb spoke up about the history of Sunny Haven dating back to 1947. It's really an interesting story how they got their start but much too long to tell you here. We spent a few hours in the clubhouse that evening playing games and eating dinner with the other members. I got to meet the club's president Roger and his wife MaryAnn and talked with them over dinner too. Roger and Mary Ann are really nice people that really care a great deal about nude recreation and the comfort of all their members and visitors. I have to say, I was completely blown away. I've always heard such great things about Sunny Haven so my expectations were pretty high to begin with but I was still completed amazed. I now have a new favorite resort. Sunny Haven!
