There are several on my friend's list and many on the site, who have "Ask me for a Picture" in place of a profile picture. this in spite of the fact that they have pictures available for viewing in their profile. I wonder if everyone realizes that once one has uploaded pictures, one need only go to "Edit Picture" and click on "Profile" to have the picture of their choice appear as their profile picture. Also, this picture may be changed at any time using the same procedure.

Cheri Donna DawsonJul 8, 2010I think you did this site and the newbies here a great service by posting this. When I set up my profile here, the first thing I did was to set the profile photo.

Gerry-4Jul 9, 2010This disappeared from the front page way too soon (unfortunately due to some spam). Let's put it back.

This is important to know, now that the front page is circulating people's pictures.

At least on my computer, I don't have to be logged in to see the big random photo. Yesterday that photo was YOU! It seems to be someone new everytime you refresh.
When I first come to this site, the only thing I see is the logon or register blocks without photos. Interesting to know it was me. Thanks for letting me know.ReactReply - RE

Still potentialy embarassing for some and I am sure we will lose more good members than we gain thro this move - sad.ReactReply - JA

Tried again a few minutes later and the profile pic had changed to another. It would appear that the main page is shown as it currently appears including the featured profile pic.ReactReply - MOmorecowbellJul 21, 2010

...
Yesterday that photo was YOU! Cheri Donna DawsonJul 22, 2010
Cheri - I know what page you are refferring to. If you click you the "Home" tab at the top you will see the page with all the pictures and should be able to do so even when not logged in.
The front when I am not signed in doesn't have a photo most of the time. Not sure if it's me or what.ReactReply - JA
James011Sep 4, 2010I am very new to this site, and it took me a little while before learning how to manage the pictures. I was not even sure what "profile picture" meant initially. Perhaps I'm a little slow, but for a newbie, some of the instructions which the pro's assume are self evident really do take a while to sort through.

macnudeOriginal PosterSep 20, 2010

I just found out that if you google my username that my truenudist profile shows up with all photos!!!!!!!
This is true, done it ourselves!! Why does admin allow our info to come up, surely there is some thing that can be done to avoid this!!!! We are not happy about this!!!!!!! Curt, or CowboySep 20, 2010
Back to the original question of why some profiles have photos that say "Ask me for a picture",
Generally means that the profile has no "profile picture" selected. Often, it means that profile has no photo at all.ReactReply - MEMemberSep 20, 2010
Here is a privacy issue: I notice that when I am not logged in, I can get to this site either by entering the URL or by searching it in Google, then I can search my ZIP Code under "Nudists" and see the profile photos for people in my area.

Curt, or CowboySep 20, 2010

If you had clicked on any of the profiles you could have viewed pics too!!!!! Its a very BIG privacy issue....
Not necessarily ! It depends on your browser, and operating system. Windows, and especially if/when using IE likes to "remember" passwords and such. THAT is the security flaw ! You think you're not logged in, but IE logs you in without you knowing, so you can't really tell. It's not a site problem as much as a browser problem, but is also another STRONG argument for setting photos to certified "true nudists" only. The casual not logged in browser can see nothing, but certified members won't even know that the photo has that setting. Many use "friends only" but I have a basic objection to that approach for all but a VERY limited type of photo.ReactReply - OL
Yes I found this too, but ONLY when using my regesterd email. When I Googled it using a relatives email address Google did not get me past my profile picture. I was requested to log on or regester. It appears that Google recognises us as regestered TrueNudists when we use our own email address. So not much need to worry. Oh and, yes my user name is nothing like my real name. To be bullet proof pick a user name that is like lots of other items Google might pick on, that way you get hidden in the blizzard.ReactReply - WE
westheathenDec 30, 2010I am not sure where it is (hopefully someone) will remember, but not too long ago TT1 posted a thread with a list of improvements that he was intending to make to the site. One of them included opt out options for the front page, but as to where that appears in his list of things to do only he knowws. As has been said before the only way to keep photos secure is not to publish them on the internet.
