Wolfboy has started a new group called Save The Wolves and posted some very thought provoking information on that group site. There is also a link to have sponsors donate cash to an organization devoted to protect threatened wolves. This is very worthwhile and costs you nothing but a daily click (similar to the breast cancer link started by Phil). I made my first click today. About ten miles from where I live is called Wolf Haven and they have howling there and it is open to the public.

The howling of wolves is eerie yet somehow comforting. There are some who can imitate a howl so well that a pack will howl back.

I have been a few times and have really enjoyed the experience of seeing the different wolves. It is interesting to know that there are approximately 2000 wolves living in the wild in Spain and Portugal.

In Wisconsin, where I live. They were removed from the federal list of endangered species in 2009. But Gray wolves are once again a federally protected species in 2010. The reason they back on the list. After only being off a year is because of the landowners. They made up any excuses to shoot them.

Finally someone with a realist, edacatuted, down to earth,and thinking statement. Being a rancher myself for many years of my life, I assure you, we don't need wolves or other pretators destroying our livestock and food ( food for all I might mention). I think we need to start a topic like " Load your Rifle, Insert Finger in Trigger and CLICK".

When people get to many "preditors.....IE: Deer" the people get their guns out and hunt to eat. " Well, most people eat what they hunt, there are those easterners that shoot to kill for the horns and head and let the carcuis rot for the meat eating animals to clean up". As for the wolves, leave the poor creatures alone and let them kill off the humans food ( IE: Sheep, Cattle, Rabbits, those tiny dogs some people call pets and carry in their purses, ETC). Wolves don't even make good coats for warmth. If a person need to save any animals, save the Fox. They have beautiful fur worthy of a nice coat for the women or a warm hat for the gents.
