Its one of our founding principles.  I don't like muslims but I have pledged to fight to the death for the rights of them
to disagree with me.  Political correctness sucks anyway.

There are extremists in every religion.  The large majority of Muslims are peaceful and they hate what the terrorists do as much as anyone else, maybe more because it is NOT what they believe in and it makes them all look bad.  More people have probably died in the name of Christianity anyway but that's a whole other topic.

Religion is a wonderful and beautiful thing...and then people get involved.

Why hate all Muslims?  They are not all bad; only the extremists.  There are extremists in every religion.  Do we hate all Christians because of the Ku Klux Klan?  I could list more examples of how extremists do not follow the thought processes of mainstream followers.

Go for the personal attacks right off the line. Out of mild curiosity, where does the beady eyes and flapping heads come from? Never heard those particular affectations before today. BTW, I'll consider Islam an inclusive religion when a Christian church is built in Iran.

Building this mosque near ground zero is a giant FU to the American people. As someone suggested, perhaps they should build a Hooters restaurant beside it.  And maybe have some of that delicious CANADIAN bacon on the menu. We'd see how tolerant the Muslims really are.

And can SOMEONE PLEASE explain what the hell Canadian Bacon is?  There is bacon and there is ham.  I have yet to see ANYTHING that can be differentiated as Canadian Bacon.

I hate to correct you, but you're wrong. The Constitution gives us the right to religious freedom, but not the right to build a church, temple, mosque or whatever where ever we want. Time and time again, court rulings have shown you have a right to worship however you want, but you can't build where ever you want.
If they build the mosque two blocks from ground zero, I'm going to open a Hooter's right across the street and run daily specialson pork ribs.

First, yes Virginia, there is indeed genuine Canadian bacon. We would be happy to send some to your muslim friends. Second, the Hooters reference was to illustrate how hypocritical some people are regarding tolerance. Tolerant enough to offend the majority of Americans with building a mosque so close to ground zero, but intolarant enough to deny a license to an establishment that highlights sillicon ta-ta's, for fear of offending said tolerant muslims. Get it now?

I think it is poor taste on both parts. NYC allowing the permits and the Islamic wanting to do it. The religion on a whole is peaceful. Yet it seems me that the personal feelings of those who lost were not taken in account. This will only create hard feelings for years to come.

Get the Christians.  They wore white sheets and killed my grandfather.

Get the Jewish.  They killed Jesus.

Sigh...When will people understand that the actions of the few do NOT mirror the actions of the many.
D&J, here another vote for that abomination being a slap in the face to America. I never cease to be amazed by the ignorance of the champions of tolerance. Want to see Muslim tolerance? The sign reveals the cold, hard fact that non-Muslims are absolutely forbidden to set foot in Mecca. I'll change my opinion on the POS in NY when they remove that sign and allow everyone into the city. Or when a synagogue is built in Saudi Arabia. BTW, for those whose "news" sources are confined to the NYT and the alphabet networks, do y'all know the significance of the NY mosque being named Cordoba House? Look it up. I won't do your homework. But this cartoon is appropriate.
Are the turnstiles higher on the muslim side to allow clearance for camel humps? No where in the civilized world would such blatant division be allowed.

The Kenyan-born traitor is MY national business, although he is not MY president or even THE president. How's that hopey-changey crap treating you? The only reason the POS is polluting the White House is because 69,450,067 morons with the collective IQ of a lobotomized chicken voted for him because of his media-created rock star image and his AC774F-colored skin.
Another bigoted, stupid, lacking completely in fact statement from NudeinMA. He has NO proof that the President of the United States was born in Kenya. He shows obvious racist feelings toward Barack Hussein Obama, who was legally elected as President ( I used the name on his Hawaiian birth certificate just to piss NudeinMA off).  "Hopey-changey" is nice, a real show of intelligence stolen from that idiot, job-quitter, Palin. And by the way, he is your President, he was elected legally by the majority, something we can say never happened to Bush II. I hope someday you rise to the level of a lobotomized chicken.
And hear comes the dog-eared, tattered race card. I'm sure NudeinMA can name several qualified, constitution-loving conservative blacks of both genders who both he and I would love to see in the White House. And why has Obama spent a considerable sum of his own money to keep his birth certificate and school records sealed? Sounds to me like a man with something to hide. For God's sake man, his own GRANDMOTHER said she was present at his birth in a Kenyon hospital!! Or is she a neo-con too?

Well, I've pretty much said my piece on this. I find it most curious that nudists, of all people, would defend and encourage this most repressive and barbaric religion. Do any of you really believe organized nudism would even exist here if America were an Islamic nation? For those posters who openly proclaim they are gay on their profiles, do you really believe you would be able to openly live your lifestyle? You would be buried up to your necks in sand and stoned to death. America did not become the great nation she is by opening the back door and letting anything and everything in. Immigrants were allowed in to become AMERICANS, not transplanted Italians, Irish, Germans etc....but Americans who love America and everything that embodies your country. Islam is diametrically opposed to nearly everything in western culture, and I'm very suspect of any Muslim who wishes to live in the west while proclaiming to be devout to their religion. Oil and water don't mix in either of our countries.
