You may as well be on angel dust if you really believe muslims preach and live tolerance. There isn't enough space on the internet to list the examples contrary to that pie in the sky BS.
Wow, taking ignorance to new levels with every post.  Just how many muslims do you know?  Have you ever travelled to a predominantly Muslim country? Speaking of examples, what about the Crusades?  The Inquisition?  Slavery?  The Holocaust?  There isn't enough space on the internet to list the examples of murder in the name of Christianity so why don't you callthatreligion repressive and barbaric?

Well, I've pretty much said my piece on this. I find it most curious that nudists, of all people, would defend and encourage this most repressive and barbaric religion. Do any of you really believe organized nudism would even exist here if America were an Islamic nation? For those posters who openly proclaim they are gay on their profiles, do you really believe you would be able to openly live your lifestyle? You would be buried up to your necks in sand and stoned to death. America did not become the great nation she is by opening the back door and letting anything and everything in. Immigrants were allowed in to become AMERICANS, not transplanted Italians, Irish, Germans etc....but Americans who love America and everything that embodies your country. Islam is diametrically opposed to nearly everything in western culture, and I'm very suspect of any Muslim who wishes to live in the west while proclaiming to be devout to their religion. Oil and water don't mix in either of our countries.

Like I said above, you keep taking ignorance to new levels.  You really outdid yourself this time and added some hypocrisy to the mix.  On the one hand you are talking about freedom and on the other you are discriminating against a particular religion.  Good job.  You bring up homosexuality yet conveniently forget that the atrocities that particular group of people suffered at the hands of Christians (Nazis, KKK, etc.).  If Islam is "repressive" and "barbaric", then what does that make Christianity?

I would like to give a big thank you to the following for giving the truth which some are not able to comprehend.  Texasbiker, Mrsun57 and NudeInMa and DanandJanette.  Lifehappens says he doesn't understand Hooters, it is because Muslems believe that women should be covered up and be treated like a piece of property.  Noodle-doode where did you come up with whites and christians, are you saying you have to be white to be a christian.  If that is so there are a hell of a lot of people that you say should not be in church.  Alwaysnakedman, lets start with flagging you first.  Nakednlouisville, everyone has a right a right to say what they want and by your post I would have to say NudeInMa does have a lot higher IQ than you since you are the one that brought it up.
The American people are not saying they cannot build it, they are saying please build it somewhere else.  By building it there they are letting the Muslems in Europe know they have put up a monument for there victory.

What exactly was liberal about my stating that, as a veteran, I served for the rights of everyone in America to think, act, worship or speak in any way they choose?  To be a patriot has NOTHING to do with political party or right or leftist views.
All of you "Conservatives" who preach fear and think that taking away liberties will make us safer are playing right into the hands of the terrorists.
If we live in fear, the terrorists have won. If we change our way of life, the terrorists have won.
If we change our constitution to remove freedoms from any group of people, the terrorists have won.
If we forget our founding principles, the terrorists have won.  I see all these things happening and it disgusts me to live amongst cowardly xenophobes who can't even see that they are leading everyone, lemming-like over the cliff.
Any so-called Christian who hates on Muslims or anyone else has no room to talk because they violate the very principles which Christianity stands for.... love your enemy, love your neighbor as you love yourself, Turn the other cheek etc.
The scum that brought down those buildings no more represented the average muslim than the abortion doctor murderer represents the average christian.   These are criminal acts perpetrated by common criminals and should be treated accordingly.  We give them too much power by acting militarily and putting the reputation of a great Nation on the line to pursue their cowardly scum asses.
Now on to lighter subjects... the quote (meant to be humorous because I actually have nothing aganst Canadians and in fact like them very much) is from the "South Park" Movie.  In south park,  all canadians are drawn with beady eyes and heads which seem detached in the middle , just abopve the mouth  and flap around when they talk.

As insults contiue to fly and the "moron" reference proliferates, I feel the need to again, clarify a few issues. First, no religion, organization, class, sect, group, race, or person has a "right" to build a church, clubhouse, or place of worship wherever they choose. Zoning laws and regulations dictate what can and cannot be built at a certain location. Second, before anyone calls anyone else a moron, idiot, Leftist, Right Winger, or whatever, I challenge you research the facts and obtain accurate, vetted information on your subject. I promise you, if you take time to research the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the respective amendments, you'll find no mention of anyone being allowed to build whatever they want where ever they choose. Third, I have lived in Muslim countries and can attest to the fact Islamic traditions and laws are very restrictive. Sharia law, the body of law based on the Koran and the religion of Islam, severely represses women. Additionally, Sharia law prohibit the consumption of alcohol. I know niether of those concepts will be welcome here in America. Fourth, everyone everywhere should be concerned about what happens here in America. We are often the catalyst for change in other coutries.

Finally, I ask again, please, before anyone makes other demeaning comments about someone, please check your facts. Research the topic on authoritative sites other than the Internet. Go to the library and read about Islam, Sharia Law, and Muslims.

Above all, if you agree or disagree with the current government regime exercise your right as an American to vote for the person or political view you believe to be correct.

Our President has time and again stated he came from a black father and a white mother. So, why do we always refer to him as our "black" President? Doesn't his white side do anything or is that Biden's job? Many folks believe anyone who doesn't like or President to be racist. So, are those who don't like our President racist towards his black half or his white half? Can you be racist towards both halfs at the same time? If so, does that mean white people are racist towards themselves? I guess it doesn't matter for Hispanics who don't like the President. This is so confusing.

I have spoken to Muslims (including Imam) and have garnered no such understanding.  Just like Christianity and Judaism, Islam has laws that attempt to control what women wear, how they act and state what they are allowed to do.  All of these religions when taken to extremes require a woman to be fully covered from head to toe with head coverings when they leave the home.  The way that you have described Hooters, it would be offensive to certain sects of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
For those posters who openly proclaim they are gay on their profiles, do you really believe you would be able to openly live your lifestyle? You would be buried up to your necks in sand and stoned to death.
Again, if we were to live by religious standards then you are correct.  We do not live in a theocracy, though.  In places where religion is allowed to govern, you will see that this sort of prejudice and discrimination does occur -- even in the USA.
America did not become the great nation she is by opening the back door and letting anything and everything in.
The Statue of Liberty proclaims differently, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free...
Immigrants were allowed in to become AMERICANS, not transplanted Italians, Irish, Germans etc....but Americans who love America and everything that embodies your country.
This is not so much the case anymore.  There is now a quota for people from different nations.  It is sad in many ways, but also necessary in others.  I can see both sides of the equation and, personally, have been trying to figure out a solution rather than complain about the current status quo.  Very difficult and complex issue that is not answered by a simple "Yes." or "No."
Islam is diametrically opposed to nearly everything in western culture, and I'm very suspect of any Muslim who wishes to live in the west while proclaiming to be devout to their religion. Oil and water don't mix in either of our countries.
Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all share the Old Testament.  All three religions are based on the old testament.  "The West" -- which usually focuses on America, but sometimes includes parts of Europe -- cannot be diametrically opposed to Islam, or vice-a-versa.  There are too many common principles.  Your statement would make a Yin-Yang comparison invalid and would need for there to be opposing and opposite points and counter points in every single subject. There is not.  Again, we are taking the militant, and most visible, people within Islam and assuming everyone is the same.

This same CRSreportalso asserts that citizens born in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands are legally defined as "natural born" citizens and are, therefore, also eligible to be elected President.  I include this last sentence since the listed areas are NOT part of the boundaries of the United States of America (proper).  My owner personal opinions of President Obama's efficacy as president are moot.  Regardless of his name and heritage, his mother is American.
It has degenerated into a flame war because the OP and his followers refuse to acknowledge their ignorance and bigotry.  Several questions have been asked yet none have been answered.  Dan continues to rant on about Islam and refuses to accept that he may be pointing his finger in the wrong direction.  THERE ARE EXTREMISTS AND RADICALS AND PSYCHOPATHS IN EVERY RELIGION.  Islam is no different.  What those terrorists did on September 11, 2001 has NOTHING to do with Islam.  They didn't do it because they were Muslim, they did it for their own agendas.  You want to bash somebody?  Bash Al Qaeda and I'll join you.  Bash those nutcases who do the "honor" killings and I'll join you.  But once again, "honor" killings have NOTHING to do with Islam.  As LifeHappens pointed out above, it is a CULTURAL atrocity, not a RELIGIOUS atrocity.  Typically, however, that little fact was completely ignored by Dan and his like thinkers, just like every other fact presented in this thread, just so he can continue to rant on about a subject he knows nothing about. Al Qaeda is NOT Islam, just like the KKK is NOT Christianity.  It is a group of psychotic individuals who hide behind their religion to commit atrocities. And before Dan or anyone else jumps to more conclusions, I disagree with the concept of a mosque being built near Ground Zero.

To those who think most who follow Islam are good and sweet....most who follow the younger imams procreate much more according to a data sheet I recently read. Read what you will into that.
Jesus was Jewish.  Many Romans were Jewish. Jesus affirms that he is the Messiah before the Sanhedrin, {Mk. 14:53-65}. The Jewish leaders turn him over to Pilate for execution, but Pilate is reluctant to execute Jesus {Harris, Stephen L., Understanding the Bible. Palo Alto: Mayfield. 1985. "Mark" pp. 285–296} In an attempt to spare Jesus' life, Pilate offers the mob a chance to free him, but they choose Barabbas instead, so that the responsibility for Jesus' execution falls on the mob of Jews that the Pharisees have incited, rather than on the Romans, {see previous note} as expressed in the Gospel of Matthew by the Jewish crowd's proclamation, “His blood be upon us and on our children.” {Mt. 27:24-25} I am not trying to incite anything here.  The issues were not inflamed by religion but by group-think.  Whenever you have a group mentality, it is always devolves to the lowest possible strain.  Group-think could be thought of as the opposite of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" where in this case "the whole is much less than the subtraction of all the parts." The original post said about two thumbs up for the mos.  Obama was elected on all his false promises to everyone.  It you wanted a job, house, education, health care, etc.  He was going to have a transparency in the whitehouse.  So far he has not lived up to one promise.  The healthcare, most people did not like or want it the way it was done.  Immirgation he refused to do anything about until the states started doing the job of the gov., then he tried sueing them.  Most of America doesn't want the mos to be built where they want to build it, they have no problem with them building one some place else.  Obama is out of touch with the American people and even his own party are starting to have nothing to do with him.  He believes, its my way or no way.  The American people were hoping for something better and got worse.
