help required to use an old account

my otherhalf as not used the account on here for a while, and we cant remember the email address we used on the account we know the user name on here he is still in my friends list, how do we go forward, i am unsure if the account would have been closed, but like i said he is still showing in my friends list, i have sent a message on the contact us at the bottom of the page, but any help from you guys would be great
