A few people have suggested that they would like to see less negative stuff here and at least one person said he wanted to see more activity here....so...how about some light chit-chat? Does anybody have some happy news to report? Here's your chance to tell us about it...

The new ones have great stars, well-done scripts and ample production budgets.[/quote] We have been watching the new Doctor Who series, Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures in chronological order. We just finished the second series of Torchwood. All are very enjoyable.

I actually liked the original Dr. Who. I liked the original Star Trek and Dukes of Hazzard. I watched M.A.S.H. over and over and hated it when a cast member would leave. I know most of the original shows had fake looking monsters, horrible special effects and I could tell they used the same ditch jumping scene in every episode of The Dukes of Hazzard. I still like all of the originals better and love it when there is a marathon on TV Land or something.

I love watching Star Trek. We have the entire series of M*A*S*H and the Dukes of Hazzard on DVD. I guess we would get along with our movie and TV watching.

Same to you cuddlebutton. I dont do the chatroom too often. Im a slooooow typist for one, and my computer freezes up in mid sentence sometimes. May need an upgrade to handle chat.

That image is so appropriate !I've just let my dogs out for a last walk in the back garden before bedtime (almost 11;00pm in the UK). I decided to take a stroll with them and smoke a cigarette at the same time ..... My testicles now have icicles ! (Tomorrow, I'll wear a dressing gown)

Well Bman, if I thought I could shut down for a week right before Christmas I would already be on the way. But, since I cant, could you just bottle some of that warm weather and send it via pidgeon. Those shipping companies would probably just break it open and let all the warm out.

So....did everyone get everything they wanted during the holidays? Did you spend too much money. Did you eat too much? Did you worship? Do you still recognize the reason for the season?

Yes...lot of questions. I'm sure there are lots of answers, too. Let's hear them.

Does anybody here know what happened to cause people to start going overboard with holiday spending? It seems that a remembrance should be as simple as saying Happy Hannukah or Merry Christmas or Happy whatever-holiday-you-celebrate. It should not be about spending yourself into bankruptcy.

One of the reasons I spent more than I intended is my husband needed a new bathrobe as did I. I saw some lightweight ones online and ordered one for each of us with our names embroidered. It just happened to coincide with the holiday season. I also ordered a sweater for him that won't arrive till our anniversary in Feb.

its sad that the holidays and spending money go together like they do, we cut back more and more each year. my favorite part is the christmas tree and the holiday movies and music which get less and less each year my favorite is the christmas story with ralphie and of course we always buy a real xmas tree for the house that is still traditional for us...
