Why does no one seem to post those certification pictures? Is there any potential danger or downside to it?

  If you reread the info on certification, it say's the pictures will NOT be posted. That is for people like cop's, judges, teachers, politicians..... who could face difficulties in their professional lives if nude pictures of them got out. You can certainly post them if you want, others have ;-) My understanding is the number on your sign is generated for and only used for certification . And anybody viewing the picture in your profile already has your user name.

In fact, quite a few people have.

[/quote] I've had these same thoughts, but as the code number on the piece of paper, whether printed or written, was generated from the profile being certified on the date also given, I cannot see how this could be used fraudulently. I'm sure the powers that be would be able to tell if the information on the sheet of paper being held had been photo-shopped...

  When I see someone post their certificationnpuc I just assume they dont understand. Non paying members only see the first six pics so why waste time posting you holding a card. Seeing the certification seal satisfies the need to know Im really conversing with the person in the pictures.

  In an case the certification pictures only give a limited level of confidence.
  A man wishing to pose as a woman on this site could get his wife or girlfriend to pose for the pictures and nobody would be the wiser. It would equally be possible to to it using Photoshop and pictures pirated from the web.

I deleted my certify photos but have many others so if you get the gold seal that shows you are certified don't see a need for the certified photos unless you just like them
