I am curious for those of you who manage to fulfill primarily nude lives at home. How do you react if someone comes to your door when you are naked. For example a delivery.
I cover up the issue is i don't always have something to cover up in so have to make dash past the door (which has a frosted window) to get something on in a hopes they are still their when I am clothed again.
I have asked one couple the same question thus far and their house had a route to the front door and a door sounded a buzzer giving them time to put a dressing gown on before they got to the front door.
I have no wish to enforce my preference on others or make them feel uncomfortable if the view of flesh is more then they are comfortable with. Just curious what all your views are :)

DaneApr 7, 2020"A hook near the door"---I totally agree. I have a "coat rack" on the entry way wall so that my nudist friends can hang their clothes when they arrive. It also holds a pair of pants that can be quickly slipped on if needed when answering the door. Fortunately the security screen door has a one-way view during the day so I can even stay nude and talk without anyone seeing me. But at night, if someone is at the door, I always put on the pants first.

nebr4200Apr 9, 2020Years ago, early 1960's, I worked for UPS. This was back in the days when every package had to be signed for. Nudity wasn't a big thing then and many times I would be greeted at the door by someone either totally naked or in a robe, that would usually come open when I asked for the signature. I saw many signs that stated that a nudists lived here. Just part of the day. I must say that some days were more enjoyable then others.

I will always put something on for someone whose job brings them onto our property - I keep a pareu tucked on a shelf in the library, towels in the barn and by the outdoor shower, and of course clothes in the bathroom / bedroom part of the house, so there's always something. If I'm outside or on the lanai, I won't make a mad dash for privacy, but I will put on whatever's at hand when I can conveniently get to it.
For solicitors / proselytizers, not so much. I know I've offended a couple of such people, and that doesn't feel good at all. The Mormon guys, on the other hand, have been perfectly happy to chat up a naked guy. When our house was just under construction, so there was NO place to hide, a pair even offered to stay and help me with the work I was, nakedly, doing. Another pair found me gardening crouched naked deep in weeds, and simply began their discussion of the Book of Alma as soon as I stood up. BrianJun 20, 2020A friend told me about a practice he does and I've started to adopt it.
When I'm expecting a delivery, I state that I live in a clothing optional household in the special instructions box. If nudity bothers the delivery person, they can send a message to let me know and I can put something on when they arrive. Most of the time I don't get a message, so I receive my packages in the nude. The delivery people don't usually have an issue with it.

bumplesJun 29, 2020I have quite often been met by delivery men while working out in the yard. Has never been a problem .... I always act like the encounter is clothed and have never been called out on it. Today, I watch closer as a couple of the drivers on my route are female. I'll then make myself scarce before they leave their van, so as to not potentially start a problem. However, I also think that previous drivers have clued them in as to what might happen ..

I don't own a robe and haven't for over 20 years.

JasonSep 21, 2020Just last week a friend was over for dinner she doesn't know I'm a nudist. As soon as she left, I stripped down and put my clothes in the washer. As I'm going past the from door, the bell rings. I ran back to the washer. Pulled on shorts and it was our dinner guest. She left her cell phone. Keep in mind she was out of the house only 2 minutes and here I am already almost naked. LOL She didn't say anything.

I keep several pairs of old style running shorts around the house. If any visitor approaches, I slip on the shorts, add my sandals and press on. Thats about the limit of it.

We made a deal, if it was a male she would do it. I put on a pair of shorts to answer if it was a female. We have windows near the door so we could see who was delivering our pizza.
It was a male and she grabbed the cash and headed towards the door. The guy didn't bat an eye. My wife is very pretty and looks great nude. This guy took the money, handed over the pizza, thanked my wife for the tip and went on his way.
This had us curious so the next weekend we did the same thing, same guy same result. So my wife asked him if he was OK with her doing this, he told her it happens to him at least once or twice every weekend. Now it is her normal thing and no one has said a word about it.
I won't do it. Too much of a stigma for male nudity. Maybe someday the world will grow up and nudity will be accepted as normal.

CamFeb 27, 2021I've tried every way...robe hung near the door, jeans and a sweater near the door, ducking behind the door to sign and/or take whatever is being delivered, or wrapping myself in a sheet. It seems nearly everyone senses this and can always tell why there is a delay in the answering the door. I am happy that they know or suspect, of course.

We live in the suburbs. Large lots so the houses are not too close but close enough. Our neighbors to the left know we are nudists. We had them over for dinner and they had mentioned that they saw us nude one night on our deck. We confessed and told them that we are naked whenever possible.
They we cool with it but not willing to join in on the fun. Maybe someday we can convince them but we never pressure anyone.
