  When I was in college, I became friends with the nude model in my art class. I visited her and her boyfriend's house and they did not use towels in their home or in their travels. I, on the other hand, would bring a towel regardless. Now that I'm more mature (age-wise), I wouldn't be caught without one... Think about it; have you ever come home from work after a long day, slipped off those tidy whites and become surprised... where the heck did that come from? Well, I don't want to embarrased -- take a towel. (smile)

  (Edited) -- have a guest towel available for unexpected guests.

  I use a towel when sitting inside or outside. On the couch, I use a sheet to keep my body oil off of the fabric. Towels and sheets are easier to wash than chairs and couches.

  We don't use towels when it's just us at home. There are a couple of Indian spreads folded up like cushions on couches in the living room and the lanai, which we will sometimes deploy when napping or with company.

  Towels are mandatory for good hygiene and good nudist etiquette. Always take one wherever you go at minimum as a courtesy and sign of respect for your host. Have nice fresh towels available for guests you have to your home as well.

  As you say in public venues a towel, wrap or other cloth is the etiquette for hygiene. When at home I don't use a towel and have had no mishaps. I do provide towels for nudist visitors (and then use one myself) so they need have no concerns. When visiting other nudists they usually provide a towel to sit on. Otherwise I use the Tee shirt I've just taken off. BTW it is only nudist who sit on towels. When in a hotel have you wondered if a textile has sat naked on the furniture the night before.

  I always use a towel at home and when I visit friends they have towels available for visitors as do I.

  We always use towels to sit on, weather at home or away, inside or out. The only time I don't usually use a towel is when sitting on the concrete at the edge of the pool, but sometimes I do use a towel.

  We call the towel I'm using at the time, my "nudie towel." I always sit on one with an exception, if just out of the shower. At that point, I'm cleaner than the surface upon which I'm sitting.

  I have 2 pieces of lambs wool to sit on at home, so very comfortable and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I all way have a towel of elsewhere.

  It depends on the person and the setting - some people "leak" more than others, and it's often circumstantial. The towel rule is clearly a good general practice, but I don't treat it as a hard and fast rule at home including for my friends, but the places I sit regularly have something easily washable in place.

  I think I am also a 'cleanliness freak' as are a few of my nudist friends. Another issue, is that Textiles who use public transport or cafes and restaurants, have no idea of who has sat on the seat earlier and left sticky fingers, icecream or chocolate etc behind. (excuse the pun). We have light coloured fabric chair covering in the house and they are starting to look very shabby from Textiles! So a towel is ALWAYS a wise idea.

However, a bare bottom, even if clean, can act like a suction cup on smooth surfaces such as leather or vinyl. Unless you're hopelessly germophobic, that towel adds another layer of sanitation.

  i have thought about this "which side up" issue before. my plan, should i ever open my own nudist B&B, would be to offer guests a two-toned towel, one side darker than the other. say blue: light blue on one side and dark blue on on the other. (wouldn't work so well with black, of course.) then each person would be on for remembering which side for them is "up" and which side is "down." were there more nudists who needed such a solution, there would be a market for such towels i would think.

  Not usually at home - everything is either leather or has sheets on them so those things clean.

  It is common protocol when elsewhere to sit on one though - not everything is as easy to clean as a leather couch!

  Body oils can present quite a cleaning problem over time! I recently had some wood floors refinished, and the floor guy told me we should never walk on the wood floors barefoot!!! He said over time oils from our feet would dull the finish and even cause it to wear out sooner. So now I am "naked-with-socks" and always grab a towel before sitting naked - on the floor!

  We always use towels in our home or anyone else's. If we are sitting on the deck benches right after hottubing I wouldn't say a word. It's just the right thing to do. I do leave towels on a few chairs too.

Waste Management in our region has pleaded with the public on all levels of public media to stop flashing these so called flushable wipes down the toilets. They do not break down like normal tp and could and had plugged up the system. If your drain pipes get plugged and the city has to come down and fix. That's your expense baby. When the system gets plugged at the waste management station that's the city expense ie your taxes at work. They could easily same a million/year if you ONLY flushed your human waste and normal tp. Not even scrap food. Trust me, I know from personal experience. It's expensive.

  The cat steps out of the litter box and jumps up onto the furniture and proceeds to lick herself clean. The dog comes in from outside and does the same, so I am not that particular.

Guess what the cause was?? Flushable wet wipes. It was a busy club weekend and it caused a lot of inconvenience for visitors and a huge expense for the club to correct. Good gawd Management was let's say less than happy.
