Shorter shorts — Discussion on True Nudists

Some of my gym shorts are wearing out so I ordered 2 new pair yesterday.
Since our grandson is here more and I am going less places that expect better dress, my gym shorts have seen a lot of use lately
My current supply has inseams in the 8" (20 cm) range, well above the knee but not really short.
Wanted to try something shorter so I ordered one pair with a 4" inseam and one with 5".
Will be fine at home, but don't know how it will work when I eventually get back to the gym since I never wear underwear.
One of the reviewers called them the ideal work at home uniform.
I suspect most of us would disagree and say that the ideal at home work uniform is nothing at all!

Other short shorts arrived yesterday. Inseam is closer to 5" than the advertised 4".
Still much more comfortable than the 8" I have been wearing at snug enough on the thighs to avoid accidental exposure.

For a short inseam buy shorts with a modesty liner and cut it out. They get down to 2 inch inseam - short enough for any bits to fall out. Having said that I have moved on to short kilts - no inseam.

Do they make them in cotton?

Will order a pair of 3" next time. Even if too short for the gym I can still wear them in the front yard.

Went the next step down and ordered a pair with a 3" inseam.
Probably won't be able to wear them to the gym, but they should be fine for yard work or when I can't be nude at home.

Wore them for a while yesterday. Even better than expected.
Notch on side gives a little more leg freedom.
If you put something in the pocket, it hangs below the hem.
Just like the shorts I wore many years ago.
Back then I almost always wore briefs, so i didn't get to fully appreciate how great shorts like this could be!

So now that I have decided not to go back to the gym, I will need fewer pair of gym shorts and have no need of anything longer than 5". Should I toss my remaining 8" gym shorts now or wait until they wear out and not replace them?

I've been anxious to rip up some clothing lately so I guess I might as well do it soon.
Maybe I can even find a shirt or 2 that I can do without.

Are there places and situations where you could wear shorts but kilts would not be allowed or appropriate?

Waited until today so I would have time to destroy them at my leisure , but once I got started, I couldn't help ripping them quickly and getting the pieces in the trash. Ripped up a t shirt too while I was at it. A long sleeve t shirt will go as soon as the weather gets warmer. Don't intend to ever again wear gym shorts with more than a 5" inseam.

I was in a Zoom meeting wearing a t shirt and my 5" inseam gym short. I stood up to get something and someone said "If you are in your boxers you shouldn't stand up." I just said "They're gym shorts" and sat down Should have said "I would never do that since I don't own underwear" but though that might be TMI.

Considering either opening the side and crotch seams for more freedom or just ripping them to shreds. Anyone prefer one idea over the other?

Now that I am so comfortable with my 5" inseam gym shorts, I am seriously considering replacing my 8" cargo shorts with something the same length.
Any opinions or experience with this type of shorts?

5" inseam cargo shorts arrived today. Perfect length for most activities, but may be a little too short for a few like going to church or playing in a concert.

I have decided that as my 8 to 10 inch dress shorts wear out, I will replace them with 5 inch shorts. I do have 2 pairs of zip off cargo pants that become about 9 inch shorts that I can wear places where I would not be comfortable with the shorter ones.

I'm thinking that nice dress shorts, even if shorter, would get you in more places, as it were, than unzipped cargo pants due to style taking precedence over length.
