We remember those days, strange how attitudes and censorship has changed. Nowadays there would be little if any pubic hair to brush out on .ost naturists!

devonguy_uk2002Dec 22, 2025H&E is still around, but I remember it very well from my schooldays - if someone covertly brought a copy in, there would be a mass of boys wanting to look at it, with tongues hanging out.

StuDec 22, 2025Yes, I remember it well, my father used to take it, but mother would give me a bollocking if she caught me looking at it! Later on in life I was in the printing trade and used to do the typesetting for Penthouse magazine. I remember when we did the first issue showing pubic hair - can't beat seeing a natural naked woman!

TonyDec 22, 2025I remember when I was a kid. In Norway they censor all private parts, but we went to Denmark and bought magazine. they never did any censorship. My parents also had lots of naturist magazines at home. It was no problem for me to read them when I was a kid.

MalDec 22, 2025Oh yes, I remember it well, in the 50's when I saw my dad's H&E (he was a nudist) and my mum's disgust (she was a prude) that I should be allowed to see them, even with brushed out B&W pics. That was at least 70 years ago. I joined my dad's sentiment and became a nudist and at 82 years of age I am still a practising nudist whenever I have the opportunity. My dad had piles of the magazine so must have been a regular subscriber.

At the local club that I visit, it's a rarity to find anyone, male or female, with public hair. Long may it continue! :)ReactReply - BA

Baggieboy2112Dec 23, 2025I get the digital version of H&E now, but I had a pile of paper copies once that I had to discard when I moved home. That would have given the paper recyclers a nice surprise if they saw them! ;)

That is our experience too at resorts and spas in Europe, which is our preference but everyone to their own of course.

Sorry, we were commenting on the smooth look in the previous post - should have made it clear.

From the photos on this Group it does seem that nude beauty pageants were quite common years ago and very popular - certainly interesting to see them here. We imagine these were at a time when naturism was more about healthy living and celebrating the human form but have now gone the same way as many textile beauty pageants. We only started enjoying the naturist lifestyle long after these were common.

Indeed, and if they were still held today they would look very different!

HDec 31, 2025My Daughter was asked to work on Miss World in London, she had to provide make up for 10 of the contestants, it was all hush hush as the negative publicity it now attracts, she wasn't allowed to say where the event was happening and made to sign a NDA - I haven't broken protocal as this was 6 years ago lol

What an experience that must have been modelling for H&E back then, certainly trend setters by the sound of it!
