We are all on here because we enjoy our bare time. Just curious what is the greatest hinderance that each of you face to enjoying your birthday suit to the max?

Some examples are: lack of privacy , time constraints due to job or other life demands, uncooperative SO, fear someone will find out?
children or others still at home or keep returning home?

I am blessed in I live alone and rural so no one to object in the house and no neighbors to bitch from their yards. I work part time which means I do have quite a bit of free time. I would say my biggest is that I am very social person and can only go so long without interaction with others.
Granted many of my friends are fine with my lack of clothes and strip down when here to soak. But often i meet others in places that my birthday suit would not be acceptable attire.

I am just curious what stops you all from enjoying bare time.

Lack of privacy in much of the back garden. Lack of nearby naturist social contacts/friends. Covid resulting in council permanently closing the swimming pool one of the local swims used. Rebuild of local sports centre meaning the new layout, with glass floor to ceiling external windows in the pool area, means it has been deemed unsuitable for naturist events. Despite assurances they would continue to be catered for.

All things considered, I am able to be nude quite a bit. My yard is somewhat nude friendly but not totally. As I keep working on fencing & greenery, it will become more so. I enjoy what I have & will stay after my projects.

Grandchildren. Nudity not allowed much when they are here, which is at least two days per week. The wide open yard on a corner lot with no fencing. The lack of places to go within a short distance to be naked.

My son, who lives with me. He strenuously objects to nudity so I have to be dressed when he is at home.
My son, who lives with me. He strenuously objects to nudity so I have to be dressed when he is at home.
I prepared for this when all of our sons were about 15 and schooled them. Told them your Dad installed a 1 way door. Once you move out that door does not open the other way. All of them "got it". I learned early on from my best buddy who not only got his kids moving back in the baby makers brought the children. Hey I made it through and when 1 job wasn't enough I got a 2nd full time job to make bills, rent ect and they are in better shape than me so they could do it as well. We will dress when they are here but they don't stay over much anymore. They know we are nudist and respect are preference. They are in a hard position which I understand there birth mother is anti nudist and quite vocal and is 5' in all command and always has been.

My problem is that my nudist friends are so far away. I enjoy nude time alone--at home and out in nature nearby, but I have to travel far to see my nudist friends. I miss out on a lot of nude social interactions. I'm not inclined to relocate just yet, though.

Of course, there are obstacles that everyone faces like lack of privacy, neighbors, and professional/social obligations that hinder my time spent nude. However, the greatest hindrance to me enjoying nudity (while being nude) is strangers who cannot read social cues in a nudist setting. There are times to engage with and meet new nudists but there are clear times to give people personal space and not force a conversation. Not to stereotype but usually, it is someone who came to the beach or resort alone and more than likely has alternative motives for being there. It happens nearly every time I make it out to a resort or beach, either I witness it or it happens to me.

Most recently, my girlfriend and I were tanning lakeside, face down, obviously keeping to ourselves at that moment when a random guy stood over us and loudly introduced himself. We both turned around, said hello, and started to turn back around after we exchanged brief pleasantries but the guy was insistent on talking to us. We dropped several hints that we were not looking to mingle at the moment but it was a clear one-way conversation and he was oblivious to whatever we said.

I would say for so many out there the biggest hindrance is the significant other won't approve of it as my 1st marriage. It didn't start that way but sure got that way. I have a heart for those people and there circumstances. There has to be a longer list to add to that.
Kids moving back in or won't launch, nearest beach is a plane ride away, no clubs near by or has been mentioned living in suburbia.

Social nudity for a single male as we all know can be tricky. If you live in the polar north and can't afford to crank the thermostat your rather stuck with clothes. I'm sure there is even more than can be added.

My wife is not a problem. She does expect me to put something on when we have company, but is fine with me being nude otherwise. She did finally agree that can sun and swim nude in the back yard when she has friends in the house as long as I close the back curtains.
The only significant remaining difference is that I would like to drive nude in our van and she doesn't want me to. My car is a convertible and I would rather have the top off and my shorts on in warm weather than the other way around. Weather is a problem. I don't want to spend the money to keep the house warm enough to be nude in the colder months.

On a December trip to the St. Petersburg FL area some years ago, I was comfortable in shorts and a tee shirt when the temperature dipped into the 60's. The natives tended to be dressed in hats, scarves, gloves, and winter weight coats. One man looked at me and said, "You must be from the North."

When we where on a beach at 65 degrees it was near deserted. The few locals that were there was pretty much there to find sea shells fully dressed and looked at us like we were nuts. When you fly in from zero degrees to 65 one gets the notion there are a lot of whiners there. I say that having many close friends down there and listen to the gripes that it's overcast and humid ect. Try -30 windchill snow blowing side wise and I maybe might feel your pain. :D :D

By the time we left for the airport it was 12. When we got there, the natives were complaining that it had dipped into the upper 30's that morning, Didn't sound all that bad to me. While we were there, we heard a concert by a touring choir from northern Michigan. They were commenting that the "cold" Florida weather felt like summer to them.

Local laws and taboos - laws on how much nudity is permissible varies from country to country. A global nomad for most of my life - having lived in a dozen different countries - I have had to adjust to new realities a number of times moving up and down on the scale from almost no restrictions on where and how naked you can be to total ban on all forms of nudity. Moving from a restrictive to a liberal environment is easy. Moving the other way can be tough. Unfortunately I could not pick and chose my countries based on my desire to live as much of my life as possible naked.

Do those thoughts include living in a nude friendly location?

Therefore I will for the time being continue to live out my nudist lifestyle mainly during overseas travel which will hopefully soon become possible again.

the surrounding societies disapproval of it is the biggest hindrance. If nude were common and no big deal with plenty of people living and working and playing nude it'd be great.

I was as a child extremely shy and scared to be seen, and that shifted mostly to being frightened to be seen nude. And my mother's attitude of 'nude is lewd' didn't help. But it backfired in lust addiction. The process of overcoming that issue finally led to naturism, which solved it, and intentionally deciding to try to defeat the 'scared to be seen nude' issue. But I'm still pretty sensitive to people's feelings on it and only comfortable nude with others when I know they are not only fine with it but want to be nude too. But that doesn't happen very often. And I'm a strong sigma type and happy alone, work alone best, social groups are ok but create a low level of tension in my mind and I need alone time to relax, unless the company is someone I can be really comfortable with. It's easier to be comfortable with someone who is nude and enjoys it while not making anything of it morally, just leaving it as part of the neutral background of life.

Fortunately I have land and can get away from the people back on it to work on agriculture and forest work, there I can drop the clothes and be comfortable.

Putting aside that it is illegal in the State in which I live and border lockdowns prohibiting travel to interstate legal nude beaches...

The SO issue is the key one along with having one of our offspring still at home to a lesser degree.

I am really keen to be social within the nude community, but not solo and while my SO is not a willing participant there is a severe time limit in which this could be achieved.

Would like to know how other men have been able to bring their wife successfully into the nude community.

My wife's love of "brunching" with friends on week ends...

I've had to watch a few sunny and warm week ends "pass me by"; because her "brunch plans" prevented us from making it to the resort. I respect her need for non-nudist socialization...but darn!

The good news: I brought it to her attention recently and she agreed to compromise by freeing up her Sundays. So I guess I can't actually complain; since she is willing to split her time between socializing with her friends and nude recreation.
