PhilfreeeukOct 28, 2008

Unigirl, you have to hit enter twice to properly space between paragraphs. No idea why that is, but it is what it is. lol
Ah, so that's how it works? Your just too smart Swift, now figure out how we can get the last post first, this is driving me nuts.
I'll second that, and while you're at it, get rid of the bottom slide bar, that's driving me nuts as well!ReactReply - MEMemberOct 28, 2008
Wow, that's a great answer. Unigirl, I bow to you. Well done. And yes, I am in the same quandry with the "everyone wants to be a friend" Though I do have a different adgenda. I have met with Tbares. I intend a meet with several others on here, but I am probably the extreem. Oh gads, I just had a thought, ur not Jan C. are you???? You can spank me later if you are. Wow, wouldn't that just be full circle. I think I'd faint. If you are, just send me an email to my regular account and I'll pass out quietly. If not, you have earned my respect if nothing else. Ok, Ok, I'll refrain from sending you 30 friend requests.
I do think though that there really isn't much of a way to prove you are a real nudist. I mean, look at me, I've been to almost every resort on the east coast and a bunch in the middle. I've been a member of several, was somewhat active in AANR for a while, tried to do something with TNS, we won't talk about that since Lee died. Also, look at Tbares. They were on the cover of the bulletin. I mean how more legit can you get, and yet we are all here, looking at this new site and sending in the pic to be a true nudist. Short of meeting up, or submitting your AANR or TNS number, oh I like that Niky Hoffman would just kill me if I did that.... Anyway, how else on a mass scale do you prove you are a nudist? I don't think this certification process is going to weed everyone out, but I think that those of us who have been around a long time will shine through the process. I mean, look, I had seen Tbares in articles and in memberships, but never been able to meet up with them, then I land here and boom, it was fantastic, we hung out for the afternoon (NO PUN INTENDED!)
So, while I agree, sending in a picture is not tantamount to really proving you are a true nudist, I really don't know how you can. I mean I can give references, the owners of Cedar Trails, The owner of Chrokee (if he's ok, lots going on there), heck the owner's of Riverside since I live here. But short of who you know, what do you do?
Oh crap, somebody smack me, here I am with a stick beating on that dea horse....I shut up now.....dang.

Lol Uni, I need to find some of these other sites sometime...
Ok, but the reason behind this thread is that people are joining groups and just not saying anything. I have the same problem with the two that I run, the third one is me and two people, not yet a group really. In any case, if you look at the two that I created, it's mostly comments from me. Soooo, how do we get people involved? How do we draw them out and get them to actually post. I mean, I run a Texas group that I have a real interest in them posting and keeping things semi up to date at least.
Thanks

Ok, I'll take that long pause to mean that no one has come up with an answer for this yet either????

ThomasNov 6, 2008
Ok, I'll take that long pause to mean that no one has come up with an answer for this yet either???? thanks Jerry
Hey Jerry, I haven't posted more in our mutual group because I can only comment on locations I have been too. I also tend to forget to check this forum and my groups. I normally go to the chat room when I am here. This can work in my favor, today I met someone who isn't very far from me that goes to Hippie Hollow also. I have invited them to join Texas Nudists group. ThomasReactReply - MEMemberNov 7, 2008
Awesome! Thanks TX!! I hope to go there when the weather gets warm again.
Thanks
JerryReactReply - SWSwifthawkOriginal PosterNov 9, 2008
Well, I'm actually new to this site, and I've already become a little frustrated with no-one responding to the groups. I was encouraged by this site, because it looked like it was people who actually wanted to communicate instead of just look at each other's pictures. Since I've been here, it seems like the only thing people want to do, is enter the chat room, where no-one is really saying anything. So, although I was encouraged 4 days ago, when I signed up, I am less enthusiastic today. I wonder if there was a way for groups to actually meet (regional groups would be easier), or even group chat rooms, if that wouldn't get the group forums to move alittle easier. Also, if our groups we joined showed up on our account page, then it would be easier to see if there was a new post on that forum. I don't know....just some thoughts from a newbie. As far as the verification process, I had no problem with it. As simple as it was explained, it still took me 3 tries to get it right, lol. I'm a little dense sometimes. But this is the first time I've actually verified on a site. It takes a little effort, which I actually like. Most people wont take the time, and that will keep quite of a few fakes out. I don't want to be on another site where people just want to swap pics and gather collections, I actually want to get to know people. So, if I can meet a few true nudists instead of thousands of fakes, it's better for me. I hope TT1 doesn't change the process. Anyhow, just some thoughts from a newbie. Take care.
Welcome to the site. All I can suggest right now mate is patience. While these forums and chat rooms are not the most active I've ever seen, they are visited by many cool people. In my short time on here, i have found that each and every one of us has our only little pervy minds, but the difference between the people here and on other sites, is that we don't let it dominate our line of think. That's why I like it here so much. So, be patient and you will be rewarded by meeting some cool people. Hehe...I do have to laugh about the chatroom though. Being nudists one would think that we would be a little more extroverted (afterall, we are more than happy to shed our clothing in public), but when i'm in there i can actually hear crickets. Eventually conversation picks up, but i'm always surprised by the long lapses of quiet. lol lol...JR, with all the different topics in here, what answers were you referring to? lolReactReply

Well, I might recommend that everone who feels that there should be more participation, should, well, participate!!
Swifty: I thought we were curing cancer and global warming in this thread....? :)

Swifty: I thought we were curing cancer and global warming in this thread....? :) Thanks Jerry
Ooohhh...well that's easy. The cure for cancer is simple, don't live. As, according to the cancer institute EVERYTHING causes it. Really, when you stop and think about it, that is also the cure for global warming, as according to scientists damn near everything causes that too. lolReactReply

I don't mean to be, but it blows my mind at how scientists say that nearly everything we do will do us harm in the end. For example, oil causes cancer. Do you know how they discovered that? They immersed rats in oil for weeks on end to see what would happen. OF COURSE if you have that kind of exposure it's going to kill you. lol I know I'm not a scientist (though I did well in biology, took the course twice in the same term, my mates teacher was hot lol), but I, like many people, am no idiot either. Instead of coming out saying this will cause cancer, this causes global warming, etc, etc, I would much rather they show us what exactly they did to come to that conclusion.ReactReply

Everybody has the right to breed, among eating, that is one of the main reasons we are put on this earth. How can a government force people to limit the children they have and still keep the people happy? I just don't see how they can do it. Hehe...I have many different thoughts on global warming, but I'll touch on one of them. I think one of the problems is oil. If you think about it, everything on our planet has a natural use so that we can all live together (you know, the circle of life thing). Nobody can really deny that, yet what is the true use of oil? I don't think it is for the use we are putting it too and yet, here we are bleeding our planet dry literally. Is it a coincidence that climate change is coinciding with our oil reserves dropping? No idea, but it's something that makes me go hmmmmm.ReactReply

I am afraid I have become pretty pessimistic about the future in general, I've been talking about the environment for some years now, when everyone said I was nuts. I even wrote a rather pessimistic poem that didn't go down very well at the time. (you can read it on my blog) Now I think it's probably too late, and the money would be better spent on preparation and learning to live with the changes that are bound to come. Here in the UK we are already beginning to see increases in the cost of living due to new laws re our carbon footprint. I fear that Governments are going to use it as an excuse to increase revenue through taxes. The fact is, we could reduce our carbon output to zero, and the increases in the developing third world countries and china would wipe out our efforts in a matter of weeks. I know we need to set an example to the rest of the world, but I'm not hopeful that it will be enough to make a difference. There are just too many people in the world, and if we don't control it, Nature will. Sorry to be so defeatist, I'm pretty depressed about the whole thing, I despise waste and the way the civilised world is developing, this global recession is going to wake a few people up, but will it be enough? Sorry Jerry, we should continue this on the other thread, but to be honest, I don't think there's much point, think it's pretty much a lost cause, but does anyone know which thread it was?ReactReply - PH
PhilfreeeukNov 15, 2008WOW!!!!!! don't ask me what happened there! ....hehe, isn't nature wonderful!
Sorry Jerry, back to the matter in hand then.
Well, logically, I spose we should try to identify the reasons people don't post and then try to think of ways to address them.
The obvious ones are "no time" and "not really interested" and we can't do much about that, the other one that comes to mind is "they forget" So, as was mentioned by the lovely Zara (who it seems has since gone on to pastures new) was that it would be a big help if we were automatically notified of new activity in the group. I had an idea how this could be achieved and suggested it to TT1 a few days back, he has read it but as yet, not responded. I don't suppose it's too near the top of his priority list. Swifty thought it might be a goer, but I rather fancy TT1 won't go for it as it involves giving group members access to a group profile, and therefore it would be open to abuse. We could always give it a try, I'm sure if he disagrees, he will just delete the profile.
Another idea would to be to have another page of "recent posts" just for the Group Forums, they could be put on here, but if it got busy you'd need a very long page or you'd have to check every five minutes or miss half of what's going on.
As a tempory measure, we could manually post a link on here to the new post, but I already spend too much time here so I'm all for automation.ReactReply - MEMemberNov 15, 2008
lol, good ideas Phil, I'm trying to get the Texas Nudists group going and I have some minor activity, but it is difficult. I have just about given up on the 40's - 50's nudist group, 72 people and no one speaks.... grrrrr
