Earthquake Preparedness

Not really a nudist topic, but one which cant affect a lot of us. What goes into an earthquake prep kit? What tools would you pack, what modern marvels would you leave behind? I want to make one up, and stash it out in the shed for a just in case precaution.How many of us are prepared to outlast the 72 hours we are told to get ready for?

    How about chocolate? Should one stockpile chocolate? It is great energy food, and i would think it would make great barter material.

    [/quote]Chocolate tends to age and dry out. A better alternative would be honey. It lasts forever.

    We're talking about a stockpile here. If you eat it now there will be none left for the emergency.

    Yes chocolate is a good energy boost but you can get it in powder form for long term storage (Milo for one) and is fine direct (by the spoonful) or made into a drink.
    Much better than processed chocolate bars that has been through a number of hot and cold cycles to the extent it taste foul.
    Also I wonder how many people worry about use by dates on their stockpile. Hope you can still get to it once every thing is flattened.

    On our property we have constructed an extremely stout shed / outbuilding that should with stand all but the most violent shake.It is used for storage and a workshop, but I purposely constructed it to be a habitable building in an emergency. Chocolate, honey, water, wine, dried and canned food, sleeping bags, and cooking gear for camping.If we lived in a warmer climate, we wouldnt need to worry about storing extra clothing!

    How many of us are ready for the shake?  A good kit will also see you through the zombie apocalypse.
